You've been to countless Libertarian Party Meetups. You've listened to debates. You've been to Gun Rights and Federal Reserve and anti-Drug War seminars and book discusion groups. You've staffed LP booths at Tea Party rallies, Peace Marches, and 9-12 events.
It's time to reward yourself by participating in the Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade. September 16th in Dallas.
The Alan Ross Gay/Lesbian Pride parade has been around for 29 years, and it's one of the most fun events you'll ever witness. You don't want to miss this one.
The parade runs from Wycliff Avenue down Cedar Springs Road to Lee Park. The Libertarian Party's float will be in a lineup position somewhere near Wycliff and the Dallas North Toll Road. (Details are still sketchy on the exact lineup. Will confirm as we get closer to the weekend.) We'll finish decorating the thing from around 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The parade begins at 2:00.
If you want to help us out, show up around noon or earlier.
The LP's entry in this parade has won "Best Political Statement" a few times.
The Republicans still don't endorse Gay Marriage in their party platform.
The Democrats are doing so for the first time this year. (Barack Obama finally finished "evolving" on the issue just a couple of months ago.)
The Libertarian Party has endorsed Gay Marriage in the party's platform since 1975. Yes, 1975.
Let's show our Gay and Lesbian friends who their real supporters are. Saturday the 16th. Hope to see you there !
