The TCLP Cigar & Wine Lovers Caucus

Pop's is a very laid back cigar lounge that serves beer & wine and has food. The "Great Room" is very Hemingwayesque with it's big game motif & several conversation pits consisting of wingback chairs, marble tables, and relaxed atmosphere. Wednesday-Saturday they usualy have live music, but rarely are the bands loud...typically a piano soloist or acoustic guitar style bands. (anything resembling loud is typically reserved for Fri & Sat nights). A fellow patron once described Pop's Safari Room as "if Hemingway owned Cheers". I've been going there for years, it is hands-down my favorite place to hang out in the entire metroplex. Smoke-wise, it's the best ventilated place in town, even non-smokers are surprised when they come into Pop's. (of course, your militant non-smoker is going to disagree since they will raise hell at the slightest wiff of the TOXIC CHILD-KILLING POISON POLLUTING THE AIR AND DENYING A NON-SMOKER'S RIGHT TO BREATH SMOKE FREE AIR IN A CIGAR BAR.) Note, this is a casual, no "official" TCLP business bi-weekly get-together, so no one should feel "obligated" to attend.

Good folks, Good Cigars, Good Drinks, Good Burger. However, my football team lost on the tube, but if the Froggies would've won, I might have just made the assumption I had died and was in some fantastic version of heaven --- Strangely sitting at the right hand of William Sparkman.

Pop's is quite a cool place. Even if you are a non-smoker you can appreciate the atmosphere of this environment. Great conversation in a laid back place. Cigars, beer, local college football, and politics. Who wouldnt like that?

Super night at Pop's, had a great turnout, some great conversation on libertarianism, and possible made some new converts. The TCLP Cigar & Wine Lover's Caucus is really taking off! Hope to see everyone there on Nov 20th...

Jeez Louise Ryan!! Come on down... I know you'll fit in great!! Our tent is getting much bigger!! Although I was a GOP (They don't know what a Republic is anymore so I can't call them Republican) at one time long ago... I found a very inclusive home - yet always makes sense. You won't find much in the way of fear mongering or neo-conism going down here!! Come on - I'll buy you one beer. But nobody else who reads this!!!

Would attendance of someone who is very interested in the Libertarian Party , but who still lines up more on the left be wanted? I'd find it really interested to discuss some different issues and see if there is room for compromise or if our ideologies are too much at odds with each other, but if this is more of a republican leaning group who would be annoyed at such a discourse, I wouldn't want to intrude.
