Pop's is a very laid back cigar lounge that serves beer & wine and has food. The "Great Room" is very Hemingwayesque with it's big game motif & several conversation pits consisting of wingback chairs, marble tables, and relaxed atmosphere. Wednesday-Saturday they usualy have live music, but rarely are the bands loud...typically a piano soloist or acoustic guitar style bands. (anything resembling loud is typically reserved for Fri & Sat nights). A fellow patron once described Pop's Safari Room as "if Hemingway owned Cheers". I've been going there for years, it is hands-down my favorite place to hang out in the entire metroplex. Smoke-wise, it's the best ventilated place in town, even non-smokers are surprised when they come into Pop's. (of course, your militant non-smoker is going to disagree since they will raise hell at the slightest wiff of the TOXIC CHILD-KILLING POISON POLLUTING THE AIR AND DENYING A NON-SMOKER'S RIGHT TO BREATH SMOKE FREE AIR IN A CIGAR BAR.) Note, this is a casual, no "official" TCLP business bi-weekly get-together, so no one should feel "obligated" to attend.
