If you ever feel like getting something reminiscent of a street legal version of a dirt bike get an XR600 and add a light kit to it. Its a way better bike than a KLR in my opinion. KLR's have a large cult following though for some reasonably good reasons.
You can get a lot more engine mod kit stuff for the XR's but there is a cam out for the KLR now I see that adds some pep to it. I found a kevlar racing clutch kit for the KLR and now it does not suck quite as much. Needs more compression tho.
