Random Vandalism or Attempted Assault?
Unknown Assailant Puts Bullet Through
Libertarian Activist's Car Window

(Sugar Land) - Jeff Daiell, a long-time Libertarian Party activist, was getting ready to head home from work late Saturday night

(December 14th) when an unknown shooter put a .22 bullet through his car window.

"I was on the passenger side, putting my umbrella in my car, when I heard a loud noise, maybe two," Daiell later told a Sugar

Land police officer.    "I went around to the driver's side and noticed the glass in the front window on that side shattered and a hole

through it."    The office identified the hole as having been made by a .22 bullet.

At this point, authorities are treating the case as "criminal mischief".     Given the lateness of the hour, it is clear the

perpetrator had come to the mall specifically to commit a criminal act.

Twice in the last three years, threats have been made to disrupt speeches Daiell was scheduled to give, but both times his

presentations were given without incident.

Daiell holds the record for the most votes, and the highest

percentage, by a Libertarian nominee for  Governor of  Texas.   He also

holds the record for most votes per dollar spent of any active LP of Texas

campaign for Governor.
