It would be great if we could arrange online payment, so the dinners could start sooner.

I only wish the evening didn't have to end. What's more, there were three guys named Ken in attendance. I'd have to say that that fact alone meant the event had to be high quality!

The food was divine...I can't say enough about it!!! Everything was flavorful, tender, perfect...even an omnivore would be blown away by this vegan meal! Thanks so much for setting it up!

How late will the buffet be available/open to us? I have a class that lets out right as this starts so my transit time is going to seriously eat into getting there!

    September 19, 2012

    • Jeff Olichwier (Realtor for y.

Bridget, not sure what time your class gets out but here is a rough timeline which of course may even be later. The event starts at 7 PM for people to start to arrive and check in and socialize. I will be collecting and with the number of people it usually takes some time. We have the food TENTATIVELY starting at 7:30 PM but also depends on when I get everyone checked in. We will then do some kind of drawing for the order of the tables are to go up to the buffet (so it is not a cluster of people but somewhat orderly). So this might even mean the last table doesn't go up until something like 7:45 or 8 PM, maybe even a few minutes later. I DO NOT WANT PEOPLE COMPLAINING about being too hungry or starving. There are a lot of people and we try to do it orderly and as fair as possible. PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY. Do not come starving and expect to eat at 7:30 PM on the dot, it most-likely isn't going to happen. SORRY about that. We can only do the best we can. Thanks for understanding.

So, Bridget, does this give you enough time to get there? I think that it probably does.

      September 19, 2012

  • Pete

i talked my definitely-not-vegan step-sis into going (she's half polish): "polish food is all about butter and meat!" but i guess it was too late to add a +1. is it ok to do this?

    September 19, 2012

  • Charlie

if some of my guests fail to make it i can just grab their share to go, right?

    September 18, 2012

    • Jeff Olichwier (Realtor for y.

Well, I think that we would need to work it out with the restaurant. Since it is a buffet we typically do not take food to go but if they do not show I can ask the restaurant what they can do and maybe they will pack something to go but the first priority is for the people that show up.

      September 18, 2012

    • Charlie

i understand your concern, but i figure if you pay for the food and someone is there to claim it for you then its all fair. trust me, i don't want this guest to not be making it ;-) ...even though id gladly eat for 2, lol

    Hey Jeff,
Just because you have Mushroomphopia (& are the boss), do the rest of us have to suffer ?
You could drop either of the other soups & add the mushroom for a 2 soup choice / or add mushroom if they normally make it anyway ! PLEASE - we'll be good, promise... :-)

    September 16, 2012

    • Ken

& I have no complaint - you do the work you deserve the perks !

...but i would like that mushroom soup, lol

      September 17, 2012

Aw man! I have Polish ancestry and would love to NOT make my own Polish food for once. Are all these items on their menu typically vegan, or are they veganizing them for just 1 night? I can't come tbe 20th.

    September 9, 2012

    • Jeff Olichwier (Realtor for y.

I do believe that there mushroom soup is vegan but we already have 2 soups on the menu so a third is not possible. I suggest we check at the event if it is vegan and you another day to enjoy it. I believe they have it regularly. We can check on that too.

      September 16, 2012

    • Kimberly

Thanks Jeff! I was hoping there might be a third alternative for the soups since I do not like Beets or Dill Pickle (Polish Sweet Pickle would be better! !) which is why I was hoping a third pick would be available.

I'm thrilled the restaurant is doing this for us! My husband actually makes vegan potato pierogis based on an old family recipe. We can't wait to taste theirs...and golabki, kapusta and potato pancakes! Am I dreaming or what?!!! I can't wait to meet everyone, too, since this will be my first meetup with the group!

Glad you are excited. We are excited to see you there too! Maybe you are going to have to have us all over to your house to "taste" your husband's piergis!! ;-)
