Registration for the MIBR is now open. $30/rider until March 1. Thereafter $40/rider unless you register using the TCBM team registration, in which case it remains at $30/rider.
New location this year - starts at the Washington County Fairgrounds.
I imagine that we will have riders riding each route. I plan to ride the nice n'easy 27-mile Gateway loop. HERE is a link to the route map. They have a "14 mile short loop", "27 mile Afton loop", "27 mile Gateway loop", and "50 mile Scandia route." People who ride 100 miles would complete the Scandia loop twice. It sounds as though the routes are still in flux.
If you want to ride with other TCBM'rs, please register with Team Twin Cities Bicycling Meetup. The registration code is meetupTC. When you RSVP, please say how many miles and which route you intend to ride. That way we can sort people out and ask some of you to help organize other riders riding the same route.
Please know that the "organizers" for each route are not "leading" the route. The responsibility of the organizers for the routes are simply to meet and greet and introduce riders to each other at the start. Every rider will be riding at their own pace. There are sag wagons if you need them - this is a fully-supported ride. So please know that people will ride their own pace and you might be riding on your own during the ride. It might be that people will stay together but it might not - just wanted to put this out there so that you know the expectation.
Details will follow as they become known and as we get closer to the date. For now, once you've registered with team Twin Cities Bicycling Meetup, RSVP with info about which route you intend to ride.
If you plan to ride with the group, please be sure to update your RSVP with info about which route you intend to ride so that the route "organizers" will know to look for you.
***100-mile riders: If you'd like to connect with the group before you take off, Bobby, Sheila, Lisa L, Chris L, and Bryan will meet you at 6:30 a.m. near the registration table. If you don't know these folks, please feel free to email one or all of them through the site and ask for their cell phone # so you can be sure to find them.
The 100-mile route appears to be the same as the 50-mile route, but done twice. So if you are riding the 50-mile route and you want to ride with other TCBM'rs, meet Chris M. and the other 100-milers at 6:30 a.m. at the registration table area.
***27-mile Afton route: We still need a route organizer for this route.
***27-mile gateway riders: I (Mary) will meet you near the registration table at 7:30 a.m. If you don't know me, feel free to email me through the site to request my cell phone # so that you can be sure to find me.
***14-mile short loop: If any TCBM'rs are riding this route and want to organize other interested TCBM'rs, please RSVP and say so in your answer to the questions that will pop up.
As always, please don't RSVP "no" to let me know you're not coming. I know you're not coming if you don't RSVP "yes." Leaders get an email with every RSVP, and it is discouraging to get 1000 emails from people who want you to know they are not coming to your event. :)
HERE is the home page for the ride - go in and check it out!
