PEDALS up @ 6:30 p.m. Please try and get there a bit early so you'll have some time to get "stuff" ready (tires inflated, water bottles filled...).
We'll meet at Gateway Cycle, 6028 Hwy. 36 Blvd. North, Oakdale 55128 (corner of 36 and Century Avenue).
Parking details: there's a lot just in back of Gateway Cycle (just West of the store that it backs up onto) - please park in that lot so that we don't take up all of Gateway Cycle's spots.
The normal Gateway Cycle ride has been that we cross over Hwy 36 and hop onto the Gateway Trail. HERE is info about the Gateway Trail. The Gateway Trail is an pretty flat 18-mile paved trail that runs from St. Paul to just outside of Stillwater. From Gateway Cycle out to Pine Point County Park looks to be about 21 miles.
This will be a red/blue ride. It's an out and back ride so it's difficult to get lost.. If you want to go faster or slower than the rest of the group you can as long as you are comfortable with the route and you let the ride leader know your intent and plan.
After the ride, if people feel like it they can head out for a bite and/or beverage at Neumann's [http://neumannsbar.com/] Note that if you plan to stop, bring your bike lock or have a secure spot where you can leave your bike.
*RIDE KEY: For those of you who don't know what the color key means, you can find it in the files section on this site. [see "MORE" at top.]
*WAIVER: Those of you who signed a waiver last year and handed it in don't need to do so again. However, if you have not signed a waiver to ride with the group yet, you'll need to do so. It is also found in the files section on this site [see "MORE" at top]. It will make things go much more quickly and smoothly if you print out the waiver, read and sign it (please also fill in the emergency contact info), and bring it with you. Thanks for your consideration.
*RSVPS: You do not need to RSVP "no" if you're not coming. If you don't RSVP "yes", we know not to expect you. We have our settings such that leaders get an email with every RSVP (and every changed RSVP). Just trying to avoid a plethora of emails from folks telling us they are not coming. Thanks.
*HELMETS: Helmets are required, as always.
*More on RSVPS: Please be considerate with your RSVP. If you RSVP "yes," the leaders will be looking for you at the start. For the same reason, please don't RSVP "yes" if you are really a "maybe." If your RSVP changes, please be sure to change it before the ride. Thank you.
*WEATHER: If the weather is yukky and I choose to cancel the ride (it's my call), I will email the "yes" RSVPs and cancel the ride on the calendar. So if the weather is iffy, please check your email before heading out.
Thanks and hope to see you there!
