St. Croix Valley Labor Day Ride

Sometimes when you have a few days off, you want to get in a long bike ride. Long, but not too long, expecially in this heat! How about 57 miles with an optional 83? I hope you can join me for this fully supported ride along the beautiful St. Croix River Valley. This is the proposed route for the 57 miles starting at 7:00 am:

http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/277883191

Some people who really want to get their miles in are starting at 6:00 am from a riders house in White Bear Lake about 13 miles away. So, if you are interested in the 83 mile route, let me know and I will email you the starting address. The SAG vehicles will be available for the 57 mile route above.

It will be a Blue ride, but you are welcome to ride faster or slower as there will be cue sheets at the start. See the ride rating here: http://www.meetup.com/tcbicycling/pages/Ride_Ranking_Key/

We will have water, lots of ice, bars, energy gels, sandwiches (Put your Subway request in at the start) and fruit available. (Let me know if you have a special request) Or, if you prefer, you can send your own food and beverages along with the SAG vehicle. There is no cost to you for this ride.

Rest stops are:

Mile 8: Marine on St. Croix

Mile 22: Fraconia Sculpture Garden

Mile 36: Osceola

Mile 46: Scandia

If you just decide you can’t go any further, one of the two SAG vehicles will gladly drive you back to the start. If the weather is bad, not just hot, the ride will be cancelled or delayed. Check back here the morning of the ride if it looks iffy. If the ride is cancelled everyone who RSVP'd will get an email.

**There is no need to RSVP no if you will not be attending. If you are not a yes we know you are not coming ;-)

**If you haven't already handed in your TCBM waiver, you need to fill it out - including your emergency contact information - and hand it in before your first ride. It makes life easier if you print it out, fill it out, and give it to your ride leader at ride start. You can see a copy of the waiver HERE. It will save some time if you print it out and bring it with you to your first ride this season.

**Even if you have already handed in your waiver, think about whether you need to update your emergency contact info. If so, please write your name on a piece of paper along with your new emergency contact person's name, relationship to you, and their phone number. Give it to your ride leader and we'll update the information.

**As with all TCBM rides, HELMETS ARE MANDATORY, no exceptions.

**Please be courteous and change your RSVP if your plans change prior to the ride. If you RSVP "yes," we will be looking for you at the start. If you're not going to make it, please change your RSVP accordingly. Thanks!!

Lisa, thanks for organizing a great ride. I was going to donate to your fundraising efforts, but the link is gone. Can you put up the info again?

Oops! I did not pay close enough attention to the day/date. I thought the ride was on Monday not Saturday. You all have fun, thanks Lisa!

We are joining a group of 10 from Team in Training who are doing a 100 mile ride next weekend in Door County. I think at least 6 of them are starting in WBL and riding the 83 miles.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
