Red Ride: Sea Salt, Lakes, Greenway, River Road. 18-21m, Loop.

This is a social ride, on one of my favorite routes. We'll start at Sea Salt (the restaurant at Minnehaha Falls) and take bike trails and a tiny bit of road to Lake Harriet. We'll head around Harriet and then up to Calhoun. From there, we'll head up to the Greenway and take it all the way down to the River Road. We'll then take the bike path alongside the River Road back down to Sea Salt. You can find the route HERE. If you want, you can add in Lake of the Isles, which would add about 3 miles to the route.

After the ride, we can enjoy the nice weather and grab a bite and a beverage at Sea Salt.

**If you have not previously done so, you will need to fill in and hand in the TCBM waiver before you ride. You can see the waiver HERE. Please print it/fill it out and bring it with you; that will save time and hassle. Thanks.

**Parking can be a pain at Minnehaha Falls. Leave time to find a place to park. Some folks have good luck looking for a spot over by the Dairy Queen. Or, you can pay by the hour and park in the permit parking area by Sea Salt, if a spot is open.

**This is a red ride. If you're not familiar with our ride key, you can find it HERE.

**As always, helmets are required to ride.

**If you RSVP "yes," I'll be looking for you at the start. So please, be courteous and change your RSVP before the ride if your plans change. Being a no- show is not cool. Thanks.

**You do not need to RSVP "no" if you can't make it. If you don't RSVP "yes", I know you're not coming. The leaders get an email with every RSVP (and every changed RSVP), and it is disheartening to get a flurry of "no" RSVPs. :)

**This ride is weather-dependent; it's the leader's call. If weather dictates a cancellation or I need to cancel the ride for any reason, it will be cancelled on the calendar and I will email the "yes" RSVPs. Always check your email before you head out!

Glad I showed up. I enjoyed the first part - slower and relaxed, and also enjoyed when we picked up the pace and then sprinted around Lake of the Isles.

This being my first time being out with the TCBM, I can't say enough how happy I am finding events as this. The atmosphere with the rolling trails running along the river and lakes seeing the great views of Minneapolis and last but not least the people in this group are fantastic, fun and true. Thanks again Chris and Tom G for your help after the dust settled! Or the pavement buckled, not sure what came first ;) I highly recommend this group if you are looking to ride with people who have experience in cycling and takes care of there own.

Stormy up by me. Very windy and dark clouds. Looks as though I'll need to take a rain check!

Same in downtown Mpls, Mary. One minute it's sunny, the next it's a downpour.

I suppose this shouldn't surprise me, but...the weather website says 0 chance of precipitation tonight, but it is storming and pouring right now in the south metro where I am. If the weather looks iffy as we get closer to ride time, please be sure to check your email and the calendar; I don't plan to ride if it is raining. Hopefully it won't be...fingers crossed!

I'm bringing my hard-tail mountain bike that was my first trail bike I took to Lutsen Mt when they use to have downhill biking! So sad it's not an option anymore :( So no judging the bike by its cover! See you then :)

How fast are your "social" rides?

    July 23, 2013

    • Kathy

I can do that, but how do you do that when the speed limit is 10 mph on the trails around the lakes?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
