The Lost Episodes Companion

Originally planned as a summer fill in series of web-based episodes the Lost Companions files were mysteriously removed from the BBC’s database following production. Mostly regarded as an Internet rumor the fan speculation on the series runs the gamut from it being low budget promotional knock offs, to innovative pre-pilot episodes for future spin off series in preparation for the 50th anniversary. Fan ideas along with a host of other absurd and less than savory theories and guesswork contribute to an interest in a series that in all likelihood only exists in the minds of Doctor Who fans. Some of the more interesting episode summaries are collected in this companion volume to the series. We start at the beginning…

Lost Companions

Summer schedules have thrown a sonic screwdriver in the works and as a result I am setting a new start date for the Doctor Who Lost Companions game. Additionally I thought a bit more background would be helpful. I have been playing and GMing RPGs regularly for 30+ years. Currently have a bi-weekly Saturday group and want to start a bi-weekly Friday group. Any game I run is designed to be novice friendly, including the availability of pre-made characters. Just in case you were wondering about whether to step into the disappearing blue police box, what this means is that no RPG or Dr. Who experience is needed. Experienced RPG players or Doctor Who Fans are also welcome. The Doctor Who Adventures in Time and Space (DWAITS) system is easy to learn and only requires 2 six-sided dice, which I can supply if needed. My favorite Doctor is number 11, but I really enjoy them all for different reasons. Please post or email questions.

There is still space available for the Doctor Who Adventures in Time and Space game starting on Friday July 19th. The original game description along with my contact info is below. The first night will be focused on the players and GM sorting out what we want from the game and generating characters, then playing an intro scenario. Unless people would prefer to use a pregen characters and just jump into the game.

My presumption is that the game will start in the present day and that the characters will have some basic knowledge of each other and are, or will become, companions of the Doctor by accident. However, this will depend on what character types people want to play, and how people want to handle the Doctor as part of the team or not. The idea behind the "Lost Companions" title is the theme of being companions and being lost. Whether these are lost episodes, lost companions, or people, creatures, or story ideas which are lost or out place, etc. In some ways this is an old theme for Doctor Who in which the 1st through 3rd doctors were lost in time because they did not have control of the TARDIS.

Looking forward to the game.

Gary
