Tea 101: Foundations in Tea

Join ex-Vue de Monde Tea Sommelier Sarah Cowell, as she leads you through tasting the six major tea styles over two hours. The session will cover white, green, oolong, black, pu'erh - and the rare and little known yellow tea.

Discover how and where tea is grown, how it is harvested and processed - and how different harvesting and processing methods can produce such immensely different teas.

Learn why the teas differ, how to taste them and how to brew each tea differently to bring out their best characteristics. Sarah will guide you on a sensory journey to experience tea in a way unlike you have ever experienced it before.

Drawing on her learnings from tea farms and with tea masters in Taiwan, Korea and Japan, Sarah will open the door to discovering that tea is so much more than just a beverage.

Limited to 8 people, this intimate group session allows for ample opportunity to ask questions and interact with one of Australia's leading Tea Sommeliers.

Held at Storm in a Teacup - Australia's only Tea Bar showcasing specialty teas from across the world - discover this charming venue as you sip and learn about the beautiful world of single origin teas.

Hi! This event is now sold out - my apologies to those who were wanting to join. As there seems to be quite a few who couldnt get in, I will likely run another class in late November. Will keep you posted!

So is this going ahead regardless if less than 8 people attend? Just wondering as there's a no refund policy...

Hi Ronny, yes - absolutely. I already have 3 booked in and paid from outside of Meetup which is enough for me to go ahead! Regards, Sarah
