If you love Tea, this is the place to be. Whether you enjoy black - Assam, Ceylon; Earl Grey; Green - Sencha, genmeicha or gunpowder green tea; White teas; Blends or Herbals (including Rooisbos), we all have one thing in common - Tea. It soothes the soul, helps you think and it's good for you!

Tea is the #2 beverage drunk worldwide next to water. Tea comes from the Camellia Seninses leaf. The 5 major world areas that started cultivating Tea according to history are: China, Japan, Taiwan - formerly Formosa, India and Ceylon - known as Sri Lanka. Other world regions are: Brazil, Nepal, South Africa, eastern African countries, Korea, Iran and 2 US plantations.

AATDC’s 3 tiered membership includes:

*Social tea Events related to each tier where you can enjoy meeting and networking with others.

*Organized events negotiated with vendors including: a site visit, individual bills, size, price, etc.

*A detailed event information page.

*A bi-monthly newsletter featuring a page on a designated tea.

*STI (Specialty Tea Institute) trained, member organizer(s) and board member(s).

*Access to a Message Board where you can post: Tea shop info, tea/non tea events, tea/non-tea items for sale, recipes, tea book reviews, tea/house reviews, etc…

*AATDC rules/constitution that protects you - the members, the organizer(s), the image of AATDC and it’s finances. (link)

*AATDC’s Board who meets on AATDC fiscal quarterly basis gives feedback, suggestions and ideas to improve the image and finances of All About Tea in DC/AATDC.

*Café Cups- $5, PayPal Price $6 – attend: events under $10, non SREs = Space Reserved Events, SREs after the Regals /Experts have RSVPd - Reservation Fee must be pd in full upon offering you a “Yes” spot.

*Regal Cups- $10, PayPal Price $11.75 – attend Café events, Afternoon Teas, Tastings, and SREs.

*Expert Cups- $15, PayPal Price $17.50 – attend Café, Regal events and can host/attend: Cuppings, Pairing, Special classes and hi-priced Tastings.

Once your dues are paid, your membership level will be denoted under the title part of your profile. This helps organizers/host to keep track of paid members. PayPal charges about 16% of the fee.

Reservation Fee

SRE= Space Reserved Event

Reservation fees for SREs are accepted on PayPal only. For most SREs 80% will be refunded on PayPal, only if you attend the event. Failure to attend or find a replacement forfeits your refund. There may be rare exceptions to this refund. If you make a payment in error, contact PayPal first to help you. Then you contact the organizer if need be.
