Intermediate Google Glass Design and Development

Hands-on Full Course: Intermediate Glass Design and Development with the Mirror API

Taught by Allen Firstenberg  | Hosted by UbiTech | Sponsored by WeWork

A unique opportunity to learn how to design and code for Google Glass with the co-Author of Designing and Developing for Google Glass: Thinking Differently for a New Platform

Space is limited.

Goal: A more advanced look at “thinking for Glass” with the Mirror API with the goal of understanding process and data flows.

Intended Audience: Developers who have a basic understanding of Glass design and OAuth security already and want to develop more services with the Mirror API. This course will not cover the GDK or Android Wear.

Pre-req Skill Level: Students should be familiar with using OAuth and the Glass Playground and setting up their own (non-Glass) web services already. This course is language agnostic and has the goal of helping people how to work in an environment they are already familiar with. Students should be familiar with Glass and how to use applications on it, but not necessarily with how those applications work behind the scenes.

Technical Requirements: Participants do not need to bring a laptop, but it is strongly suggested they do so to follow along with some examples or references.

1:00 pm - Catered Lunch + Networking [60 min]

2:00 pm - Overview and Review: Technologies, design, and card basics [30 min]

2:30 pm - Advanced Cards and the Timeline: More advanced card layouts and menu options [30 min]

3:00 pm - Sharing, Commands, Contacts: How you interact with your Glassware from Glass [30 min]
