David and Tristan will be talking about the evolution of virtual worlds showing where we started over 10 years ago and the developments that led to where we are today (including the massive hidden use of VW’s by global companies). Finally, where VW’s will be in the next few years. The talk will be entirely from within a virtual world visiting SIMs that are normally off limits.

Vir2al build proposed and existing real world buildings on virtual grids to enable clients to “walk” around the build in an avatar. They also build virtual training
environments for training companies to train such diverse groups as factory
workers, paramedics and car mechanics. The talk will include a tour of their
virtual workshop and current projects.
