Inventors NorthWest Group meets Robotics Team

Inventors

Our next meeting will be amazing! We are going to meet the Robotics Team from Mountain View, May 14 (Tuesday), 2013, at 6 - 7:45 PM.

Jen Floyd has made all the preparations to host Inventors there. "The team would like to tell Inventors Group about FIRST Robotics, demonstrate their robots, and answer any questions you might have. The team is always looking for more mentors and we welcome involvement from your group from anyone who is interested," says Jen. To learn more about the team you can visit their website, http://www.team753.com.

We could impress the students too, showing off some of our own inventions. Please, let us know in advance if you can bring a prototype or a product for show and tell. If the prototype is cumbersome, why not a movie or website! Please, e-mail Faye Phillips - [masked] with info and suggestions to make the event better.

Presence must be confirmed at least by May 10th (Friday). Then Jen and her team can arrange a proper space to host the event. Feel free to bring your kids. The Makers Group and other Tech Alliance Group Members are very welcome.

We would like to remind everyone that adults are encouraged to contribute $ 5.00 to cover inventors Group operations.

The meeting will begin in the Physics classroom, Room C5. Park in the North parking lot (outlined in red), adjacent to the soccer fields. From the parking lot, you will need to take the sidewalk around a side building to the door. We will have students outside to help guide visitors starting at 5:45pm.

Very interesting. The kids are really into the robotics competition! Had good discussions with some team members afterwards.

It was a great meeting. The Robotics Team showed us how a team of students and mentors can work together to build successful and competitive robots. We Inventors look forward to follow Robotics Team work and establish a continuous relationship. At least something practical has happened - some students are taking Classes to learn how to program Arduino controller with David as a teacher. Let' see what more ideas can come up soon. In behalf of Inventors Group, I would like to thank Jen, Todd, Kim, Lance and all the mentors and students for the great show!

I suppose I could take my camera. You want video? I can shoot a little low-res for you.

The team is really looking forward to meeting everyone! If you have questions, please let me know. As Carlos mentioned in the invite - please bring your kids! Depending on which bots are up and running they may get a chance to play frisbee or basketball with a robot.
