TechHub Riga Meetup

TechHub Riga Meetups are supported by Latvian Guarantee Agency

Hello!

Please register here and bring your ID for this meetup for security issues!!!

Remember when strong and inspiring Latvian startups competed for Start Tel Aviv prize in August? It was Fastr app that won the amazing experience trip to startup land Israel. Meetings with experts and VC’s, conferences, startup tours – it was all included. Fastr leader Eldars Loginovs and journalist and jury member Anda Asere  from Dienas Bizness are now back from Israel and full of impressions to share. This Thursday we are having a Meetup dedicated to Start Tel Aviv competition – Eldars and Anda will be on stage. Learning from the startup pioneers – Israel unplugged.

Jonathan Howard will be talking about creativity in startups, how to be creative under pressure and make sure that your good ideas are captured and developed. The principles come from improvisational theater, where performers have to make the audience laugh with no script, and the same skills are directly useful in businesses - especially in startups and in fast-paced environments.

In the second part we will continue with TechHub Talent Pitch!  This is the opportunity for startups to pitch for talent. Startups can apply to get 3 minutes to talk about their company, who are they looking for and why people should join. Those looking for startup jobs, founders looking for co-founders, all are welcome. If you want to pitch for talent, you have to apply to [masked] and send a short presentation to show on screen, summarizing your startup and who you are looking for. Deadline is 6 PM on November 6th.TechHub members have priority to pitch for talent if we have too many requests!

There will also be an Idea Pitch session! You will have 2 minutes to let you ideas out in the crowd! The last time ladies were dominating the stage, we are hoping this will become a trend! :)

We also offer free beer and there will be great networking with interesting people after the pitching part!

If you can’t make it to TechHub, watch it here

Are there any good and available Ruby on Rails coders out there? If yes, please contact me at [masked]. Keep in touch!

I haven't been to quite some meetups, so this is something new and nothing is mentioned in last month's meetup description. So I'm presuming something got stolen or damaged in the office during the last month.

The wording on the ID is not specific enough, the 'your ID' does sound like something specific, but I bet it meant more like 'an ID' such as a passport or driving license.

Passport or driving licence is perfectly fine for this! You are welcome to join!

Such issues don't rise up just out of worries. I presume something got stolen?

    • Alise L.

No, no! Please, nothing got stolen, and hopefully nothing gets stolen in future as well. We like how it's been so far - very great community! The ID's are simply because once in a while we have gorgeous guests visiting TechHub.
