Technical Interview Prep - Coding and Design Questions XXIII

I have reserved Meeting Room #1.

Please, RSVP and provide suggestions for what he agenda can be.

I recommend, breaking out into tables as we did on 7/8, take one problem each and solve as a group for about 1 hour and then take 10 minutes to present  your group's solution to the wider group.

Will have to support production deployment :( But it would be great if you can share the problem that would be discussed - Thanks

That was what was discussed by my group, whose topic was "dynamic programming". The other groups discussed other problems (not sure what). I think the object-oriented design group discussed how you would design a traffic light.

Could we discuss about Agile method for programmer who are familiar with waterfall?

These sessions are completely dynamic and the topics discussed depend on the group's interests. There are usually 2-3 breakout sessions with different topics. So if there's enough interest, we probably can, provided we have at least one coach qualified to teach this. However, this topic is probably too specific to get enough interest (though we can always see). In the past, the categories ended up being broader and more interview-related, such as "Object-Oriented Design", "Basic Algorithms", and "Intermediate Algorithms".

I am sorry, but my plans have changed, and I will be unable to attend. I have accepted a position as an Application Systems Engineer for Wells Fargo. I start on 8/12, and I will be on a two-week business trip to their IT office in Irvine, CA.

Is anyone interested in doing some practice phone interviews? If so, ping me offline and we can set something up. Thanks!

The proposed recommendation sounds good to me.

Is this the next planned meet up, or are we planning others in between now and then? I was thinking we'd hold meetups more frequently than once a month.

Fair enough, I have XXII setup for 7/28 and XXIII for 8/11 as of now. Also working on setting up one on 8/24. If we need one sooner than 7/28, feel free to set it up, I will renumber (or call it XXII.5)
