DEC Presents:  "Lock the Doors and Bolt Down the  Hatches: Structuring Your Business for Investment and also Protecting It"

Join us at the DEC on Thursday, July 17 from 9:30am - 10:30am in the Board Rm.

If you are looking to position your entity to raise capital then this is the perfect session for you.  Please join the experts of Steptoe and Johnson Attorneys at Law as they discuss strategic steps entrepreneurs can take to orient their company for investment.  Since getting funds alone, doesn’t guarantee success, they also offer pointers on how to protect the company’s investment and resources too.  This session will cover:

- Alternative structures for start-up entities
- Sources of funding (debt and equity)
- Considerations in positioning the entity for the appropriate type of funding
- Structuring your business entity to best position your company for success and protect you from liability
- Structuring business-to-business contracts to minimize exposure and liability
- Non-compete, non-solicitation and non-disclosure agreements with employees and co-owners
- Ohio Unfair Trade Practices Act and how it helps you
- Pros and cons of employment agreements and basic terms
