Columbus Code Jam Christmas (well, Boxing Day)

Christmas Code Jam is cancelled due to the snow and ice. I hope to see you next month.

What: Columbus Code Jam is a meetup to pair on cool projects, get one-on-one guidance from experienced developers & sys admins, network, learn, and eat pizza.

This is a great replacement event for those of you who miss the ProtoNight/IdeaNight meetup.

Topics we've discussed so far:

  1. Twitter Bootstrap
  2. CSS
  3. Getting a rails app from Github running.
  4. High-level architecture of a Rails application.

Come and add to the conversation.

Refreshments for Christmas Code Jam 2012 are sponsored by Tek Systems. We thank them for their generosity.

Columbus Code Jam is brought to you by: Columbus Ruby Brigade, Columbus Perl Mongers, the letter Y, and the number 12.

Oh, the weather outside it frightful....

I've managed to commute to the area district, so I figure, unless everybody who said they were coming, changes their response to 'No', then Christmas Code Jam is still on.

Stay tuned here, just in case the weather turns worse and we cancel for our own safety.

Looks like we've got a code jam in the making. What's everybody working on?

I will likely either be created tests in Test::Unit and Rspec for my Rails app, integrating OAuth for google and/or facebook, or adding a database [probably sqlite] to the Perl Advent Planet [http://www.lenjaffe.com/PerlAdventPlanet/] to aid caching.

That's Perl and Ruby covered. What are you bringing?

Working on finishing my promosity.com MVP. Only written a few rspec tests for the billing side of things. May be a good chance to tackle that little problem if we are working on the same wavelength there :)

I'll come if I can make it, more a designer than developer but I'm trying to figure it out so I'll pro'lly just eavesdrop if I can make it.

All are welcome. You can laugh at my lack of artistic talent.

So my minions - shall we meet in December? Is anybody interested? Shall we change the venue to a coffee shop for December? Shall we require funny hats or a secret handjhake?
