Healing Sleep: Learn to activate the Parasympathetic Nervous System through breath, body and mind.
Experience an amazing and refreshing combination of yoga postures, breathing and deep healing "yogic sleep" to complete your practice. Yogic sleep is a very powerful relaxation technique that when practiced successfully is as restorative as sleep- except you remain fully aware throughout. It is the perfect remedy to a busy life, and for those longing to return to a state of harmony, balance, and wholeness. Sound therapy music, carefully chosen as the sonic background for this practice, will calm, soothe and balance the nervous system; increasing the auric field, and expanding consciousness. Aromatherapy, specifically chosen for the healing properties in the essential oils will be offered as a part of this practice. Participants will learn how to promote self-healing of body, mind and emotions to extend the benefits of the practice beyond their yoga mats.
The workshop will include discussion and a gentle Hatha yoga sequence which will incorporate pranayama to balance the chakras and prepare the mind to receive the benefits of yogic sleep. Workshop Facilitator: Kathy Alves
