Wednesday Tennis in Sunnyvale 5:30 PM

  • Nov 28, 2012 · 5:30 PM
  • Mango Park (aka Sunnyvale Middle School courts)

This is a weekly Wednesday meet-up held in Sunnyvale.

Due to the popularity of these local courts after 6:00 p.m., we'll start at 5:30 p.m. Please try to arrive on time to help us secure courts if you can.

RSVP'ing is strongly recommended, and kindly remember to update them if you are unable to attend, by noon.

Should you plan to arrive later than the scheduled time, please mention it along with your RSVPs, but keep in mind that if you are more than a half hour late, you may lose your spot to a waiting list member. Also note that you may or may not be able to play beyond one hour depending on how busy the courts are, especially during USTA leagues' matches seasons.

Members who are on the waiting list are welcome to come out and check to see if there are spaces available around 7:00 since we normally play until about 9 or 9:30. Priority will be applied according to the order of your RSVPs.

Rain cancel, unless the courts have had some time to dry.

We appreciate everyone's contributions of tennis balls.

See you all on the courts!

Many thanks to the nine brave souls/diehards who came out to join me tonight. The courts were 90% dry and the temps were great!

Special thanks to Ramesh for sacrificing one of his T-shirts and a towel, and to George for not just contributing a towel but also a broom and a leaf blower which makes it all possible for us to have another great evening of tennis.

See you all next time! :-)

Hi Everyone: Well, it finally stopped raining and since the courts only takes about a couple of hours to dry, minus a few small puddles around the edges of the courts which can easily be soaked up with an old towel or a rag, I'm still planning on showing up.

It would be very helpful if those who are still planning on showing up bring along an old towel and a plastic bag to carry it back home with.

Looking forward to seeing some of the braves and the diehards on the courts this evening. :-)

Hi Vanessa: Welcome to the group! While some members also enjoy playing singles, we often played doubles due to the busy nature of these courts. Looking forward to having you join us.
