Free concert: Blood, Sweat & Tears

The Village of Elk Grove and the Elk Grove Park District proudly present "UNITY WITHIN THE COMMUNITY" Mid-Summer Classics Concert Series.

Free concerts will be held on the Village Green at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday's in July.  Pizza, sandwiches, pasta, water and soda will be available at family-friendly prices.

July 9, 2013 will feature Blood, Sweat & Tears - the first band to: tour behind the Iron Curtain; have 3 hit singles from the same record; combine rock with jazz; and of course, Sunday night Woodstock - YES the real Woodstock.

Racking up sales in the millions Blood, Sweat & Tears earned multiple gold albums, 10 Grammy nominations and won 3 Grammy Awards, including the most prestigious of them all, Album of the Year.  Some favorites include:  YOU'VE MADE ME SO VERY HAPPY, SPINNING WHEEL, WHEN I DIE, HI-DE-HO, LUCRETIA MAC EVIL, GO DOWN GAMBLIN', GOD BLESS THE CHILD, and SOMETIMES IN WINTER.

Bring your lawn chair and come out to enjoy this free concert with your neighbors.

    Will Blood, Sweat & Tears have any of the original members?

    “Not a chance,” says Colomby.  “When you’re at a Yankee game you do not expect to see Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig.  They’re not going to be there.  But what you will see is a top-notch brand, the pinstripes, and the best possible combination of players on the field to represent the Yankee legend.  So that when the Yankees play magnificently and win, no one’s going to say, “Where’s the Bambino:  Where’s Mickey Mantle?”
