Sunday 9:00 am, Westview HS, 3.0 and up

This meetup is for 3.0 and higher level players who want to play mixed doubles or singles.

Advice: have white or light color shirt. Makes a big difference when playing in the summer sun. Please bring plenty of water or empty bottles to fill from a drinking fountain one block away. People with light (sensitive) skin are advised to bring a sunscreen.

The routine is to play 5 games no ads and then winners play winners on the next adjacent court. The goal is to be on Court # 1 (Champion Court) or move towards it. Number the courts consecutively (#1, #, 2, etc.). After all courts have played their 5 games...winners move towards Court # 1 and non-winners move the opposite direction towards the last court.

Priority - hit and have fun!

re: "Gabriel park has 8 courts". I have heard horror stories about how busy Gabriel park is. Same reason we stopped playing at Grants park and play at Westview instead.

Leah, that was my suggestion too...the Cedar Park Courts at the corner of Berkshire and Cedar Hills.

"I always found a court when I went with my kids" is very different from having to find courts for 24 people (that is how many we had today, and that is how many, just little less, we had yesterday). We might have to do this: make sure place has 4 courts, at least. Then, only make 8 RSVPs available for that place.

I had to follow up on the Gabriel court idea. While yes, Laurence, those courts are great, Peter is right, and they fill up FAST! Especially on a Sunday morning. I'd hate for all of us to hike that far to those courts, only to have them full.

What about the four courts that are at the corner of Cedar Hills Blvd and Berkshire St? Right behind Cedar Park School?
