I have a AB in linguistics from Harvard University, a diploma in technical and specialised translation from University of Westminster, and have just received an MSc (Distinction) from University of London in computer science, which included an indepth study of information retrieval and data mining. Although I do not yet have a professional background in this area, I am very interested to move into it and am hoping to learn more from being part of this group.
I have worked in C++, Java, Groovy and a bit of VBA in programming languages. On my MSc we used Naive Bayes and vector space classification, including Rocchio classification when working in IR.
Although my current career is in a different industry, I am passionate about language systems and analysis and am interested in meeting people and finding projects pertaining to this area.
