Fwd: Attending the Safety Monitor Training can really help the Pink Pistols even if you don't march in their contingent

The GLBTQ gun rights group Pink Pistols are planning to have a float in this year's Pride parade contingent, and so per the event's anal rules (see http://sfpride.org/parade/contingent-monitors.html ), they need more people to take the training to be registered as safety monitors. Since the LPSF is not having a parade contingent, a number of us may march with the Pink Pistols or the Bradley Manning contingent. Besides the training session mentioned in Katherine's message below, there are a number of other sessions coming up:

Subject: Attending the Safety Monitor Training can really help the Pink Pistols even if you don't march in their contingent

Greetings Starchild,

Interested in attending the Saturday Safety Monitor Training?

Sat June 15 - 11AM SF Public Library Main
- 100 Larkin St. - Koret Auditorium. Just recently posted on GGLR site:
http://www.meetup.com/RonPaulSF/events/124225532

Dan and George and I will be there. It's only for about an hour. Dan and I spent some time with Nicki at Con Con talking about what the Pink Pistols were planning and what they needed for participants in the training to reach their goals. Nicki said its important to get numbers of people taking the training, but that all of those who take the training do not have to necessarily march. They are trying to reach a particular quota of safety monitors so they can have an extra vehicle float and a larger contingent.

That means if someone wanted to march with the Bradley Manning contingent, or do roving photography at the event, the Pink Pistols could still benefit from them taking the one hour training.

So let your friends know. The more who take the training, the larger contingent the Pink Pistols can support.

I encourage this cool one hour training.

If you can't make it Sat 11 AM at the SF Public Library downtown (main) - Koret Auditorium, there's a link on the site to an info page which includes other times and locations to take this training.

Regards,

Catherine
