After MOCA, be sure and go down to check out the Geffen Contemporary and bring you MOCA ticket stub to get in for free. Also, there is free and metered parking at the Geffen.
This lecture will include Abstract Expressionism, Color Field painting and the New York School, Existential figurative sculpture, Neo-Dada and much more. Artist includes Rothko, Jackson Pollack, Claes Oldenburg, Franz Kline, Robert Rauschenberg and many more. This particular collection really speaks to the shift during WWll when the artists fled Hitler’s Europe and relocated to New York starting in 1939.
Is there free parking? No, the meters are $4 an hour and parking at the Disney Center across the street costs $8 or $10. Tickets to get in are $10 or $5 with student ID. This also includes free access to the Geffen Contemporary down the street.
