All members get a hand stamp from me upon entering the establishment.
The hand stamp is "permission" to approach
who also have stamps!
WHO: Join us, and meet single and coupled men and women in their 40's, 50's & 60's, interested in gathering to explore what Portland and our greater area of Maine has to offer.
WHAT: The Greater Portland Social Club is unique! Members sign up, and show up for that months event. We always gather early in the evening for cocktails (or club sodas etc... if you don't drink!), rather then for pricy dinners or other pricy social events.
WHEN:The Greater Portland Social Club Meetups will typically be once a month and start at 5pm or 5:30pm. Have another commitment later that evening? Great, the night will still be young by the time we part ways.
THE CONCEPT: In The Greater Portland Social Club Meetups you won't be trapped sitting under a long dinner table. Members can circulate around the bar area, move from person to person, and thus enjoy meeting and conversing with every single attendee if you choose to do so.
TAKING LEAPS & BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS: Please keep in mind that The Greater Portland Social Club "cocktail hour" is a good time in which to take a leap and "Step up to theStamp!" If you get a kick out of someone / a couple a bit, why not feel free to invite them to get together another time?
BEING OPEN TO LEAPS TAKEN TOWARDS YOU: The Greater Portland Social Club members should consider being open minded and prepared to being approached by other members in search of nothing more than conversation, compatability and friendship.
Assuming someone of the opposite sex wants to "date" you because they invite you to go out with them to do something fun, will only interfere with yourpotentially meeting new friends with whom you may otherwise have a lot in common with. Why assume another's intentions? Just ask!
Thank you, MJ
