Conversion Optimisation For Startups - How To Get More Customers

A Guide on how to optimise your website to convert better

Startups and businesses put in a lot of time and energy into acquiring traffic so its surprising to see that a lot of that traffic fails to convert. This talk will walk you through the framework of testing and optimising your landing pages to create maximum impact using Conversion Rate Optimisation.

You will walk away learning about:

• How to identify and learn from visitor behaviour

• Conversion rate optimisation and how to improve your site

• A/B and MVT testing and how to do it yourself.

• How to increase the number of visitors who sign up to your site- how to find the value proposition that works best for your startup.

Manuel da Costa is a Manchester based Conversion Rate Optimisation consultant at Digital Tonic, Founder of Bride Book and Founding Organiser of Leanconf. He splits his time working on his startup and helping businesses optimise their websites through Conversion optimisation, Analytics and better UX.

Hi Robert, the similar product to Optimizely is

The others mentioned in the talk were:
Ghostrec, Mouseflow, Crazyegg and Inspectlet for behavioural reporting

Qualaroo, webengage and snapengage for visitor surveys

Zopim and olark for live chat

Thanks Christian. I'm suspecting that having my Landing pages point to an eCommerce website (WooCommerce) may not be effective, and not just because I've not managed to get Paypal working with it. It probably gives too many options but often fails to give them what they want. I think I should be looking at a simpler model at this stage, especially as I ought to be obtaining visitors' email addresses for remarketing. Time for a Pivot...

Another excellent meeting, thank Kuma. The tools and references were very helpful. Optimizely is good, I didn't catch the name of the similar product though. Recommend Zopim live chat although it doesn't seem to recognise all visitors it is FREE for a basic account!

See you there, but had a difficult choice to make. Another Lean Startup meeting just along the same road! And an Internet Marketing meeting not far away. All at the same time!! However this is the most practical sounding of the three for me. My face to face sales are fine whereas website gets visitors but fails to convert into sales:( I'm working my way through the Smart Guide to Lead generation
