Lean Startup Machine is a competitive weekend workshop where you will apply Lean Startup techniques in the real world. Join a team and launch a startup--not by writing code-- but by validating and iterating your key hypotheses quickly. Learn to identify the key risks in your business model through hands-on mentorship and our unique framework of tools.   Over the course of the weekend you will do the following:

  • Ideate a startup or work on the one you have now
  • Practice Customer Discovery
  • Research your Target Market
  • Practice Customer Development
  • Test your Assumptions in Iterations
  • Understand your Business Model
  • Iterate and Pivot (when necessary)
  • Build something you can Launch
  • Present your Validated Learnings

...and more   Summary Itinerary: Friday: team formation and workshops Saturday: getting out of the building, hands-on mentorship, develop MVP, testing Sunday: finalize MVP, deliver presentations

Who's this event for?
If you attended Leancamp London, this is the perfect way to apply what you learned in the real world. You should attend if your startup team does not yet have Product/Market Fit, or if you are an aspiring founder who wants to learn Lean Startup methodologies from the ground up.    For best results, bring at least one co-founder with you to the event. If you have existing co-founders and none of them attend, you'll have to work on a new startup idea. But don't worry, you'll still learn relevant strategies to apply to your own business. No co-founders? No problem. You'll meet many talented and smart people and have the opportunity to hear their new startup ideas. Got an idea of your own? Great. You'll get a chance to give your elevator pitch at the kickoff.

Mentors and Speakers...
Eric Ries, The Lean Startup Katia Beauchamp, CEO of Birchbox Sinead Mac Manus, 8fold John Haggis, Sheridans Eze Vidra, Google Marc McNeil, ThoughtWorks Nadav Poraz, WhoSampled Nicky Smyth, Leancamp Gordon Guthrie, hypernumbers Azeem Azhar, PeerIndex Nathalie Nahai, We make them click Stuart Eccles, Made By Many Joseph Wilk, Songkick Dimitar Stanimiroff, Stack Exchange Antonio Terreno, Forward Carlos Espinal, Seedcamp Tim Morgan, Picklive Andy Davey, Squadify Ian Collingwood, UXdna Limited
We bring together the TOP startup mentors to help brainstorm your idea, share insights into your market, tweak your messaging, and look at your UX in a single weekend. Just one hour of consulting with any of these people would cost more than the price of admission, and you get them for the whole weekend!

Schedule Breakdown...
Friday you will show up and enjoy pizza and refreshments while networking with mentors and other attendees. Bring an idea to pitch if you want to form a new team for the weekend OR bring your existing team to validate/invalidate the startup you are currently working on. After identifying the core problem, problem-solution hypothesis, and all the assumptions you need to test, we will break for the night.

Saturday those assumptions will be tested directly on customers using an array of customer development techniques. Most of your assumptions will probably be WRONG, so you will iterate rapidly to validate/invalidate a new set of assumptions. You will go through several Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), most likely a landing page of some kind, in an effort to further test and refine your hypotheses. In the evening, you will briefly present your Business Model Canvas to a panel of mentors.

At last, on Sunday afternoon you will present your final learnings to the other teams and to a jury. This is not just a learning exercise, as you will compete with the other teams to win additional mentorship and support.
