Edible walking tour with Wildman Steve Brill in Forest Park!

Come for an awesome edible plant/fungi walking tour of gorgeous Forest Park in Queens!!

The tour will be led by naturalist and media sensation "Wildman" Steve Brill.

You MUST RSVP with him 24 hours in advance of the event to go.

His number is (914) 835-2153.

Here is Steve's website about the event:

We will be walking throughout the park for around 4 hours, foraging for edible native and non-native plant species, and also pointing out Poison Ivy and other plants that should be avoided.

You should bring at least a liter of water or something else to drink, and lunch.  We will not be staying on paved roads so wear good sneakers or hiking shoes/boots.  Pants or long socks are also recommended due to Poison Ivy.

Also bring a paper and plastic bag to collect yummy plants/shrooms, and a trowel if you have one.

There is no RSVP limit so bring your friends, relatives, roomates, butler, maid, accountant, etc.

But you MUST call Steve Brill at least 24 hours before the event so he knows you're coming, and please call him to cancel so he knows if you aren't.  Folks who fail to cancel an RSVP with him will be charged a mandatory fee to go on another of his walks.

His number is (914) 835-2153.

Directions by train:  take the F or E train to Union Turnpike/Kew Gardens.  Get out at back of train, locate Union Turnpike, and walk south (towards apartment buildings) to Park Lane South.  We will be meeting at the southeast corner of Union Tpk. and Park Lane South (by the park).

Direction by car:  Take the Grand Central Parkway east to the Queens Blvd. exit before the split to the Jackie Robinson/Van Wyk.  Follow the service road all the way to the end and make a right, taking you to Queens Blvd.  Make a left onto Queens Blvd. service road (not the main section) and take that to Union Tpk.  Make a right and then make a left onto Park Lane South.  There should be lots of parking in that vicinity.

Since I created this event I will be emailing folks my number so I can help direct you all incase you get lost.

Looking forward to seeing you all and feel free to email me any questions.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
