Grand Canyon of Tuolumne, Loop in and out from Tuolumne Meadows

I had intended to go backpacking 4 nights in Kings Canyon this weekend but my schedule changed and I have to be at work on Friday and Monday so this is last minute trip. Anyone interested in joining me?

1 night backpacking trip to Glen Aulin. I don't have a permit but lets me at the Rangers Station and pick up walk-in permits. (Tuolumne Meadows Wilderness Center)

We will hike out of Tuolume to Glen Aulin go past it and find a campsite (about 6 to 7 miles total that day), then for those who want to day hike another 3 miles to explore the falls: Californina , Le Conte and Wagonwheel falls before returning to camp, then  head out early on Sunday for the long drive home.

Since we are trying for walk-in permits let's keep the group small, just 5 of us.

I did this trip a few weeks ago and we had such a great time I'd like to go back this time with a camera and with a battery that works.

Distance: 17  to 20 miles counting the day hike

Trailhead Elevation: 8,500 feet (2,550 meters)
Glen Aulin Elevation: 7,900 feet (2,400 meters)
Total Elevation Change: 600 feet (180 meters)

Bear Canisters are required and also it's important to keep a clean campsite in this area.

Expect to get your feet wet with many water crossings. The water should be high so use caution at all crossings.

If more than 5 sign up then I'll do a lottery on Wed.

Just a reminder there are bears along the river so bear canisters are required and there is one knee deep river crossing.

Thanks, Jason. If we take off Friday, we can spend Friday night either around Mono Lake or at my cabin in Twain Harte--open to any other suggestion.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
