Alamere Falls and Wildcat Camp

  • April 23, 2014 · 10:00 AM

I have a group permit for Wildcat the 23rd of April. I have room for 10 additional people. We can split the permit cost of $40 and maybe carpool. This is a midweek trip, and the main focus will be photographing Alamere Falls. We have a picnic table, a water spigot and a portapotty at camp. Expect cool and damp conditions. I can email a meeting location to get the parking permits before the event.

Thank you so much for organizing this. I wish I could have stayed overnight but just doing a day hike was fun.

I just had to cancel-so sorry, Organizer. Trying to wade thru frequent flyer miles for an impending vacation & it's taking forever. Rain check for me-another time! Btw, I'm big on mid-week-and, would love to do a chunk of the John Muir Trail this year. Any takers???

Yes, Tom-I have Q's! I was thinkung of leaving from Tuolumne Meadows and doing perhaps 1/2, then dropping down to Owen's Vlly and taking the bus back to Touloumne, unless I can get a friend to meet me. Would love to talk more: here's my email:

Hey guys- the ranger station doesn't open until 10a, so I can't get any permits until then. I will be at least 30 minutes late duet to this back up. My apologies. I thought hey opened early like a regular ranger station. I don't have anyone's numbers, so if someone reads this, please share the info with group.

If anyone is late, I'll leave the permits on my windshield. Dark blue subaru outback

I'll be in a Forrest green subaru legacy.

Very sorry - I thought it was going to be too good to be true that I had a couple of mid-weeks days off but life called :(

    Hopefully next time

    Hi all,
I’m thinking of doing this as a through trip. I’d start at Polo Marin with the group, but leave through Olema the next day. I can get a buss from Olema to my home, but there is no buss that would get me to Polo Marin by 10am. I was wondering if I could beg a ride from Greenbrae to Polo Marin.
If this does not work out then I'll drive my car and come home with the group.

I am concerned that you do not know the names of the trailheads? Don't want to get all Scoumaster-y. What bus?

      April 22, 2014

    • george

The Marin Stagecoach. Could you give me a ride tomorrow?
      Thanks George

Because I can't figure out who's just doing a day hike and who's actually staying over, and who's carpooling etc- I assume everyone is staying over, with separate cars. Fees will be about $5 cash per person to cover site fee, and it looks like 8 parking permits? Again, I am a slow hiker, a photographer and I like my one on one time with the wilderness. I will probably tag behind with my buddy. I can be reached at[masked] as long as I have service. And no thank you on dinner and breakfast, but I do appreciate the offer.

Looking forward to this-I love camping in Pt. Reyes, I live in Mill Valley, and will be coming up Highway One. The food idea is great Tom, IMO. Please let me know any details I will need. I have room for a car-pooler or two. I'm so hapy to try out my new one person tent from Mtn. Hardware!

Hey everyone - good work on getting the permit! I have been doing this overnight since I was a kid and have not been up there this year so pretty stoked. I can drive from RWC albiet is it a pretty dirty jeep (I am a Scoutmaster).

If you guys are open to it, I have all the gear to cook for a big group, and don't mind handling dinner + breakfast - never had any complaints before :)

Is San Mateo on anyone's route? Need a ride. I am right off 101 on E. 3rd Ave.

Just to make sure that you guys are staying overnight so I won't be picking any of you up, yes? I would not want to leave any of you without a ride. :)

I'm definitely driving myself, thanks for checking Ewa! :)

I will need a garuntee of who's going. I will be picking up the parking permits, and I need to know how many cars to get permits for. If you don't have a parking permit, it's a pricy ticket. I am aiming to be at Palomarin trail head by 10am. I will be carrying a heavy pack with camera gear, so this is the easiest route. There are other routes, but we will have to meet up somewhere to hand out the permits. I'm at[masked] text me if you have questions

Hi Bobbi, the last two times I got a permit they only asked how many I wanted. That's when I got the permit the day I went in. When you got the permit online there should have been a spot where you entered the number of car permits you need. You can go online anytime and change the number.

      April 20, 2014

    • Bobbi Lance-Yuzu S.

The only ging it asked was how many people, and that I have to pick up the actual permit the day of. I will call em tomorrow

Hi! Anyone plans to be driving from or through the city and returning the same day? If so, I might be looking to carpool and contribute to the gas/tool expenses (can meet anywhere close to BART or highway exits).

    April 16, 2014

  • Bobbi Lance-Yuzu S.

For those not staying the night, you do not need a parking permit. I will likely be in a dark blue or silver subaru outback hopefully by 10a on the trail. I will get the number of permits, and if I don't meet up with everyone, I will leave the permits with our camp number on my windshield. Please let me know no later than Monday who is actually spending the night, and how many cars to get parking passes for.

    April 16, 2014

  • DianaV

As far as a guarantee, I would be willing to send you my part of the camping fees via paypal or mail. I will be there barring unforseen emergencies.

    April 12, 2014

    • Bobbi Lance-Yuzu S.

I don't need a paypal- cash is fine. I just need a count for the permits. I am a slow hiker, and this a photography trip for me. So once we meet for our initial permits, I probably won't hang out too much.

      April 13, 2014

  • DianaV

Bobbi, Rick and I will carpool, so we will need one parking permit between the two of us. We will meet you at the Palomarin trailhead at 10 a.m. on the 23rd
