This is a moderate trip of about 20 miles starting at Tenaya Lake and exiting at Ten Lakes trailhead, Saturday 26th to Monday 28th.
Saturday: drive to Yosemite, pickup permit, set up the car shuttle, and then a short hike (about 4 miles, elevation gain 500 ft) to Polly Dome lakes for the 1st night.
Sunday: about 11 miles rollercoaster (up 1100 ft, down 1500 ft, then up 1200 ft!) to Ten Lakes basin, camp the 2nd night.
Monday: about 6 miles (mostly down) to the trailhead exit.
This is a relatively short trip, but since it's still early in the season expect some snow covered trails, high stream crossing, and downed trees, so you should be comfortable with those obstacles. Bear canisters are required.
Tioga pass and hwy 120 are open. Last week Yosemite felt more like July than May.
My permit is for a total of 6 people. For now RSVP is open for the waiting list only. If more than 6 people sign up, I will run a lottery early next week, and the first 5 people on the lottery list will be moved to the yes list. A deposit of $20 will be required to attend the trip, that will be refunded at the trailhead minus the permit fees (about $6 per person).
