Let's go see what's left of these amazing waterfalls in this classic Bay Area hike.  We'll do about 10 miles.  Option of something to eat/drink afterwards.

Directions to the trailhead - From US 101 in Marin County, exit San Anselmo/Sir Francis Drake. Drive west on Sir Francis Drake about 5 miles to the town of Fairfax. Turn left on Pastori, make the first right onto Broadway, and then turn left on Bolinas. Drive about 1.5 miles on (what is now signed as) Fairfax-Bolinas Road, then turn left onto Sky Oaks Road (signed to Lake Lagunitas). Once past the entrance kiosk, drive about 0.4 mile, and turn right (to Bon Tempe) at a signed junction onto a gravel road. Drive about 0.3 mile, then bear left (unsigned) to the trailhead (if you get to a second parking lot at the end of the road you've gone too far).

Trailhead is the wooden gate. There is a porta-potty at parking area and another along way at far end of the dam.

There's a fee for parking.  Bring about $7 or $8.

Hi ... Am car free, and coming from the East Bay, using a bicycle to get around. Can anyone offer a ride to this hike from or within a few miles of a BART stop? I have a folding bike that fits even into a Mazda Miata.

Stuart - You should probably bring your Bear Grylls machete. It might be overgrown. But, your 10 pound Bear Brylls pocket knife might work.

Vera - Bring your bear spray. They just reintroduced grizzlies to the California coast. Be prepared.
