I'm mostly available during the day, although I can steal away and write one night a week.
Yes, I've been in multiple writing groups over the years, most of them positive experiences, but this group is different. Because it's led by a facilitator, it offers more safety (i.e. less chance for a strong personality to dominate the group.)
Yes, I lost my husband recently and writing has been an important part of my grief work. I am writing poetry, short fiction and memoir.
I prefer an ongoing number of sessions. There's a sense of community that evolves in an ongoing group that is priceless.
I like the process of writing itself...so I like anything that lets me lose my self and move into a new reality.
I've always used writing as a way to know myself better and process my experience. I have a deep affection for poetry and a good story and it feeds me to be around other creative writers and artists.
Excellent place to support a writing habit. Warm and welcoming.
