Free Will by Sam Harris

Sam Harris, neuroscientist and author says "A BELIEF IN FREE WILL touches nearly everything that human beings value. It is difficult to think about law, politics, religion, public policy, intimate relationships, morality—as well as feelings of remorse or personal achievement—without first imagining that every person is the true source of his or her thoughts and actions. And yet the facts tell us that free will is an illusion. "

Well this is what the Thinkers Club will tackle at our meet-up February 5. Does The author know what he is talking about when he calls free will an illusion, is he full of it and motivated by his activism, and what ever the answer is what does it mean oif anything.

Well come to the Thinkers Club Wednesday February 5, 7:00 pm and as always we will figure it all out.

See you there

Oh, I enjoyed the group very much. It was my first experience with this group. The discussion was intelligent and stimulating. I also enjoyed the after group get together at Panini's that allowed a very comfortable "getting to know" the members. The group was friendly and welcoming. Than you Thinkers.

"You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice. If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice. You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill.

    I will choose a path that's clear.

I will choose free will." -- Rush, "Freewill".

Hey guys - Sorry I'm missing Jan. & Feb. I've been downhill racing at Boston Mills on Weds. where I've acquired more seconds than anyone else. I fully expect to be back in March. Cliff

Understand completely about the weather (it's a ~50 mi drive for me, so, yeah.) This is one of my favorite topics, and I was excited to be meeting with people who would be up for discussing it! Alas, it's a family birthday on the 12th, so I'll have to miss that, as well. Still looking forward to meeting up in the near future.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
