Come join other local amateur philosophers the first Wednesday of each month from 7-9pm as we explore the answers to life’s most profound questions at The Thinkers’ Club. Modeled on the Socrates Café concept, the Thinkers’ Club is a reading and discussion group intended to provide a fun, non-judgmental forum to discuss and debate philosophical topics with other critical thinkers. The group will read primary and secondary sources in the history of philosophy as well as in fiction, history, politics, religion, art, culture, sociology, psychology, etc. that generate philosophical inquiry. The Thinkers' Club will be run democratically and all readings will be selected by the group. Don't hesitate to attend if you can't find the time to read; you'll still be able to participate in the discussions. Members of all creeds, backgrounds, and walks of life are encouraged to attend. At the Thinkers' Club, we are of the opinion that philosophy is intended to explore - not dictate - views. On that note, bring an open mind and a friendly tolerance/respect for others' ideas.
