The Science Museum of Minnesota’s exhibit, “MAYA: Hidden Worlds Revealed,” tells the story of Maya civilization over time and the scientific research that has helped unlock the Maya past. The Institute for Advanced Study is partnering with the museum, the Maya Society of Minnesota, and Hamline University in a six-month series of public programs featuring consultants to the exhibit and other world-renowned scholars.
Cost: $5.00 for General Admission
No advanced registration is required for the lectures and half-day workshops - $10 on Saturday, September 21st 9:00am (The half-day workshop is NOT part of the meetup, but the informaton is included if you are interested in pursuing this).
All students (middle-school through post-secondary) can attend any event for free. SMM staff and volunteers can attend all of the lectures for free. There is a special Maya Society membership for[masked] that includes all lectures and half-day workshops (June 2013 through April 2014). Cost: Individual = $50; Household = $80. It can be purchased at the door of any of the events (cash or check payable to the Maya Society).
