This was a good introductory session on the nuts and bolts of book writing and publishing. I've learnt quite a bit from it and would encourage anyone who's interested in writing/publishing to attend future sessions.

Hello Xin Min, for the first two formative sessions, the approach is, even if participants don’t wish to proceed with the Short Story Book Project, they must take away useful tips. The idea is to ensure that every Meet Up of the HWFW proves beneficial to attendees. We do this by taking a holistic approach - marketing, distribution and authoring. Thank you for your much-appreciated input.

Eric Alagan is a business consultant and his time don't come cheap. I want to salute him for generously giving his time to groom the writers. Opportunities to be mentored by a published author rarely come. Best of all, it is free cos he is paying it forward. Writers, do come for the next session in May. The door will close after that.

Thank you Sam, yes I’m prepared to invest my time. Authoring and bringing stories to fruition is hard work, as any published author will attest. Quite often, this journey is fraught with anxiety, loneliness and bouts of self-doubt. Our team will ring fence and help aspiring authors overcome these challenges.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity where a published author is coaching us for free, with no string attached.

In the first session, Eric shared a great deal of stuff such as, preparation for your introduction, creating the buzz before the launch, how to evaluate other people's work without hurting the feelings, and how to let the idea flow effortlessly, etc

If you always aspire to write your story, come for the next session. If you miss it, that's it.

Hello Sam, this is a useful comment - a brief of what we discussed. I hope that such feedback encourages writers who remain undecided to check out the next session. We already have enough participants for the short story project but a couple of more will be added welcome.

The meet up was great :) I have personally learnt a lot from the lessons. I would strongly recommend to all who are keen on writing a book. They have vast experiences from the planing to publishing a book to marketing. If you want to know the "knows how" of becoming an author. YOU SHOULD BE HERE

Hello Aaron, thank you for this kind feedback. More importantly, I’m happy you managed to take away something. I believe what we discussed regarding the Self Intro and the Elevator Pitch is useful in any situation - especially in our careers and business, and perhaps even in our social life. I wish you every success with your business endeavours.

Glad I turned up. For an initial meeting, the organizer covered much ground. There are action list to do and target dates set for each process to meet our final aim "To get our story published." Hope that as the group gets to know each other better as we go along, we will have more participative sessions. I believe that any question asked or suggestion made will only help the group to learn or perhaps serve as a reminder. As we vocalise our story to print, let's also express our views and thoughts positively moving towards our common aim.

When I met Fiona and Sam at a seminar recently, I was encouraged by their enthusiasm. With such strong support and some effort, we can certainly help aspiring authors to publish a collection of short stories.
