Hi everyone. I'm sorry I could not make it last night since I have been unwell for quite some time. Unfortunately, it means that I have missed 3 sessions which means I will no longer be a part of SSBP-1. I am planning to finish my story nonetheless and develop it during SSBP-2. I must thank you all for listening to my chapters and for the reviews I got so far since they will play a big part in how I go about my story !

    • Eric A.

What rules are these? Please do not take my words out of context - and also, do not try to influence my decision in a public forum. You have Sachi's email - keep it private! I do not need any promises - you signing up for the SSBP is commitment enough - a commitment I hold everyone to.

Thanks Fauziah and Sally for the encouragement ! Was Fauziah's comment deleted haha? It is possible I may have taken Fauziah's tip and pursued an appeal but I probabaly shouldn't say more here ! Hope everyone's is speedily heading towards their story climax :)

Hi Everyone so sorry I missed last night's session as well. I have had one of the most difficult weeks this year, with the last couple of days spent firefighting some corporate issues with an aggressive, cocaine-snorting client (I kid you not!). Lots of material in there for another story. Eric, the good news is this week has been "the last straw" so to speak so I have decided to change jobs (effective by end Nov). My new role will be far more tranquil and give me more time for far more pleasant things like writing. I will email you my 10 completed chapters this week. Big hugs to my fellow Teamsters, keep the fire inside burning :-) !!!

Hahaha Fiona i love it! Yes too much censorship would be required - never thought so-called clean Singapore would give me so much fodder for scandal. Leg is much better thanks. An early retirement would be heaven - we will get there once our books hit the stands and we rake in our millions!

    • Fiona T.

Haha oh yes! I've even picked out what to wear when I'm on Oprah Winfrey's show for her book club!

Just to keep you informed, Ying Shin has decided to take a break to focus on her work. She hopes to rejoin next year when we launch SSBP-2. We're going to miss her but respect her decision and wish her well.

    September 22, 2014

    • Sally

Ying Shing, hope you use the break time to plot out your story and have it all ready for SSBP2. Will miss you and do come for the Social Gathering.

Thanks Fauziah. You churned out words and thoughts so easily and fast, am sure you can beat any of us to finish your MS. That's your gift.

Thank you Eric. Every session is filled with something new and refreshing. There are 'rules' and 'no rules'-all add up to much discoveries about writing and presenting our story. Giving examples to show the differences, for me, this immediately register the message. I feel blessed to have a mentor to guide and to give 'painful but constructive criticism.' I marveled and feel proud to be in The Write Team with authors who already had published books – from Eric, Michelle, Mervin, Karen and Edward. Eric, in time to come, I hope to see that you upload more books in our "Page" section. Working on this SSBP has made me appreciate more the toil, time and sacrifices which authors put in before each book lands on the shelf. You guys are fantastic.

    September 27, 2014

    • Eric A.

You're welcome Sally and thank you very much. As I mentioned in one of the pages - all I need is three authors and I'll proceed to complete the anthology. Looks like we'll end with more than three - that's simply fantastic! Well done you guys. Of course, the challenge is to ensure the stories reflect positively on everyone's craft and pull in the readers. Yes, that means 95% perspiration :-)

Another great meeting! Learnt so much. I'm glad for the chance to explain myself and so relieved to have Eric's understanding. My drafts MS do not as yet incorporate what has been taught, hence still ghastly. Apologies. It's like learning to ride bicycle (which I can't). I've just gotten off to a wobbly start. Need to wobble lots more before I dare to ring the bell or change gears or anything. So Eric, sorry but I still need training wheels. I spoke up because, while people may drop out or pull out, I was afraid I'd be kicked out! After I vomit all my rubbish, I promise I'll clean up my mess. Thanks!

Can I supply the plastic sledge hammer to you, Eric??

      2 · September 27, 2014

    • Sally

Fiona, fall off the bike like Michelle, get bandaged more than required, maybe Eric might spare the hammer, ha,ha. Keep your story going because we want to enjoy it too!

      1 · September 27, 2014

You made it too, Michelle - that was a pleasant surprise. Good night :-)

I'm revisiting my past! School girl days when I haven't finished my homework or studied for a test, yet having to go to school. (Any emoticon for sticking out tongue?) Racing to finish up. Will catch a cab to class! Probably late. Please start without me. Sorry & thanks!

    1 · September 26, 2014

    • Eric A.

Well you were late, Fiona, but made it all right - we all appreciate your commitment :-) But as you know, once the computer is fired up and the projector ready, we always start (usually on time).

Hi Eric, I saw you uploaded a page about authors books – from Michelle, Mervin, Karen, Edward and yourself. I wanted to post a congratulatory note to all, but the page does not have this function. So I send if from here. Getting your books published and on the book shelf out there for everyone to enjoy is an amazing feat to me. Your hard work paid and your marvelous work will not go unnoticed, I sincerely believe so. Wish you great success. Kudos to all !

Ha,ha.ha, I like that! Fiona - "original trouble maker".See you on Friday and you can stir more "trouble"for Eric.

      2 · September 24, 2014

    • Fiona T.

?? Just saw the two latest comments which were posted 2 days ago, which strangely I missed any notification of it. Trouble-maker? Gosh, now I feel like a monkey or something. Yes, a monkey that's gotten into too much trouble, grabbed too much sweets and hand caught in the jar. Seems Life not only catches up, but overtakes! I've worked in so many twists and turns in the plot of my story, I've got myself so tangled! So, Sally, I don't think I can stir more trouble for Eric, I'm literally coming apart and unraveling as I speak!

Hi everyone, I just realised that I can't make it as I will be at the Heart, Mind and Body Festival exhibiting this Friday til late. If anyone wants to come to the festival it will be on all weekend and I have some extra tickets. Do message me at[masked] if you are interested in the tickets. Here is more about the festival http://www.loveandlightfestival.com/index.htm

Hello Michelle, thank you for the email exchanges we've had. All the best with the festival and thank you also for keeping me informed of your absence this week and again in October. See you on 1 Nov at our Social during SWF 2014. If I have the time, I'll drop by to see you at the festival this weekend - but for now, I can't make any promises. Cheers.

Following up on our last session where Eric introduced us to the finer points of "Body Dialogue" and how the U.S. President always stands on the right of the other person to demonstrate power, here's a clip of what happens when he stands on the left (watch 0:46)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAFQIciWsF4#t=278

Can't help but notice the power play between Obama and Fallon.

It's a pretty cool video if you have the time to watch it through. Perhaps we can consider slow jamming our book reading...

    September 4, 2014

    • Eric A.

Hello Chris, glad to have made an impression enough for you to follow up. 'Body Dialogue' or 'Body Language' is a fascinating language and adds to an author's repertoire of incluing techniques. You're right, Fallon is the host and Obama the POTUS - and both want to be top dog. Cheers :-)

      1 · September 5, 2014

Cool video indeed, Chris. Their attempts made the gestures looked rather awkward. Last bit of throwing down the microphone just to re-emphasize made it worse.

    1. Sally - well done. Received your reviews (applause). Now, you can focus on polishing up your chapters 4, 5 and 6.

      9. You're not the last, Fiona dear - and thank you for your reviews. I must add that the two reviews you handed in are of a very high quality and would be very helpful to the recipients. Well done!

      10. All reviews in :-) Thank you Michelle. Now it is left to me to consolidate, moderate and relay to all - probably sometime next week. Well done indeed - everyone!
