Health Care Rally

We will be having a health care rally to help answer your questions about the health care bills currently in Congress. We will have representatives from our state and federal government joining us. Also joining us will be your doctors and other health care professionals who will be answering your questions about how these health care reform bills will affect your health care.

We will be posting a flier for everyone to print out and pass out in their communities promoting this rally.

We have changed the date of the Rally to take part in the Recess Rally. Details below:

This morning the American Liberty Alliance announced the launch of a nationwide "Recess Rally" happening across each and every House district office on August 22nd, 2009.

We've joined with Michelle Malkin, RedState.com, American Majority, Smart Girl Politics, Americans for Limited Government, Freedom Works, Sam Adams Alliance and several other groups to help push the national effort.

The purpose of this effort is to oppose Government run healthcare and make sure our Representatives know how we feel. You can view details of the effort at http://recessrally.co...

Please spread the word and make sure everyone you know is a part of this. We're looking to duplicate the success of the Tax Day Tea Party and we can't do it without you!

I wish we could see more blacks and minorities. How do we reach out to them?

Amazing speeches by all the speakers. Glen Freeman was Amazing as usual. Few dissenters showed up but that was to be expected. Lower turnout than expected, but it could be cause of the street being closed off, limited media references before the rally or the weather being so nice that people wanted to enjoy one last good Saturday before the cool weather with their families. Would have been nice if more people stayed to clean up, I cleaned up some trash(We are nothing like those people that trashed the National Mall) and younger Stephen left his sign(It's in my trunk) along with some flags left in the ground. Arnie gave me his card in case we want to use his services again. He did a great job with the audio. What a great time!

The entire rally was professional and very well orchestrated. I loved the fact that we showed respect to the God and Country. The music before during and after was a great mood setter. The skit provided just the right amount of humor. The speakers were very well spoken and knowledgeable about their topics. I learned something from each one. I was motivated before I heard the speakers, and after hearing their experiences and wisdom, I’m all the more motivated to continue the fight to oppose the federal government take over.

Thanks to Dawn and Sheila. This rally was great. The speakers were wonderful. I wish more people had been there. How do we get the word out about these events? I also know many people who think Obama's health care plan is terrible ( yes I know he does't really have a plan), but can't get these people to show up , and stand up.Thanks to all of you that do. Thanks again to all who worked so hard on this rally.

My wife and I drove 300+ miles one way to attend this rally... and just to hear that one inspiring speech made by that Air Force Master Sargent who spoke on the Constitution ("You're unemployed") made the trip worthwhile. I had hope to see more people, but as this gentleman noted: Only 55 men signed the Declaration of Independence. (More importantly, 1/3 of the American population was for, 1/3 was against, and 1/3 did not care one way or the other!)

I was put off by the doctor who stated that the "far right wing" of the GOP had made up the issue of "Death Panels"... He is wrong... the thing is implicit throughout HR3200. The doctor's slam at Sarah Palin was NOT appreciated.

I had a great time. Mr. Freeman was pheonomenal speaker. I hope you someone recorded it and that you will post it on the website by itself for people to see and share.

Also, you need to change the # count to add a digit. I tried to put 1000 and it only took three digits.

I really enjoyed the variety of speakers. Brought my two daughters (in their 20's) who came hesitantly but by the end, I believe, they appreciated the information and will pass their impressions on to their friends. One is a nurse so she will be impacted. Well planned, but wish more had come so they could hear about where congress is heading.

I thought it went well. Good organization, great speakers and terrific information. I had hoped there would be a larger crowd, but the size was respectful. We need to keep the momentum going.

    Thanks....Linda

I thought all the speakers were great, and the sound system clear. It was very inspirational, especially the last speaker about health care.

The speakers were great and the skit was entertaining. The information given was a little redundant because those that attended were probably aware of things that were said. If you didn't know what was going on, you became more informed. It was getting hot on the pavement and the wind was dying down as time went on. We left at 2:00 and it was not over yet because we had another committment soon after.

Thank you and the speakers for the time taken to put this together. It was much appreciated.

p.s. Could have done without the campaigning of Matt S., though. We didn't come for that (and one of his workers stood next to us and talked throughout the speakers and made it difficult to hear them sometimes). Please try to avoid using this platform for campaigning.

VERY well organized. It kept moving, no lags. The speakers were all very good as well - all were engaging, interesting, and on-topic. I was very pleased with the event.

Excellent speakers!!!!!! The messages were good, straight forward, above board and on subject. PS Mr. Freeman was REALLY GOOD. Sorry we didn't have the crowd we wished for.

I thought the rally was absolutely great. It was very well organized and I LOVED listening to the different speakers talk about their feelings on the health care debate.

This was just top notch!!! The lineup of speakers just blew me away. What an awesome learning opportunity this was. Hearing about what is going on in Canada and UK was not only eye-opening .. but really really scary. This is what is in store for us! Thanks to everyone for your hard work, it is sincerely appreciated.
It was very hot today. I thought there was water available, but I didn't know where. I think it would have been helpful if every hour or so, someone announce it and point to where it was located. With people coming and going, perhaps not everyone was aware of it .. maybe even a sign "Free Cold Water Here" would be helpful.

Sheila did a great job! The speakers were great however, Glenn Freeman was excellent!!! He got the message across about what we need to do as Americans should our elected officials let us down, he is truly a great man!

The one thing that was a big turn off for me, was the other republican guy running around handing stickers for his run against Congressman Terry. I thought that we were all supposed to come together at this rally as Americans not as political parties. As far as I know and have Congressman Terry is not in support of this Life Control Bill. I think the guys name is Matt he is free to disburse his stickers anywhere anytime, I just really thought the rally was not the place.

Obviously our message is NOT reaching people of color
Which I believe will be the next accuzation we will face-- RACIST white people

It was a wonderful meeting. All the planning paid off. Thanks for all the hard work. The biggest disappointment was the turnout. Everybody in insurance and health care should have attended. To have your freedom taken away and not do anything is hard to understand.

The speakers were very knowledgeable. Disappointed the attendance was't greater. I will try to attend as many functions as I can.

I thought it was well organized and I was impressed by the good behavior of all that attended. I enjoyed all the speakers, especially the speach about the constitution. It was my first event and I look forward to the future with optimism.

Sheila and her healthcare crew did a fabulous job with the rally. Her speakers were wonderful and sobering about what we are losing in our freedoms. Chilling. Security was very present and thankfully not much needed. i have wondered why the obama groups didn't show up en masse...

Gregory Boyle, Tony Fulton and the businessman (forgot his name) were dynamic and I felt resonated most of our concerns best. Thanks for bringing in the doctors to give their angle too (although it's important to keep those speakers turned up, or microphone closer - people were drifting at that point I think mainly because they were hard to hear). Thanks Lee Terry for explaining logically HR3200.
And once again, thank you Dawn and the assistants for all you do!!!

The Rally was very well organized. The speakers were excellent. The crowd was very respectful. This is the first activity I have attended since I joined The 912-Project. It was good being amongst those sharing the same ideas and values and gives one hope that we do have a say in government. Keep up the good work!!!

Speakers were excellent and informative. I wondered if more people did not attend because Ben Nelson "sounded" like he agreed with us. Also maybe because of concerns about a large crowd (get there early and parking), lack of restrooms (esp preschoolers and elderly), and reports that SCIU would be there.
Thanks to the organizers, good rally!
