Hi - If anyone can attend this Agenda 21 workshop, or even part of it, just to pick up any handouts and/or take a few notes, it would be most appreciated! You wouldn't have to say anything unless you wanted to! If you know someone that lives in Bellevue that would be inclined to go, please pass the word!

From Agenda 21 Focus Group

Good Afternoon,

This is a reminder that the EPA Green Streets Strategy Technical Assistance Workshop is Monday, April 15th, from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm at the Fire Training Center.

This is an exciting opportunity for the City to receive guidance from experts in the development of a smart growth approach that includes integrating green streets principles with Complete Streets Strategies that address the environment, economic opportunity and overall quality of life in Bellevue. The guidance during the workshop will be provided by David Doyle, EPA Sustainable Communities Coordinator, and Phil Erickson, founder of Community Design + Architecture.

It is essential to the success of the workshop and development of the green streets strategy to have the participation of critical stakeholders from throughout the City. We are counting on your knowledge and experience to assist in preparing a strategy that recognizes existing City policies and procedures while integrating green streets ideas in line with the long term strategic plan for Bellevue.

The attached agenda contains important information regarding each workshop session, timeframe, and details. If you cannot attend a full day, please consider attending a session that corresponds with your position and knowledge.

Please let us know of your attendance as refreshments and lunch will be provided. If you are unable to attend please send a representative or let us know who is the appropriate staff person to contact. If you have any questions or dietary requirements feel free to contact myself or CDBG Specialist Abby Highland. Thank you in advance for your participation and please forward the flyer to anybody else you think would be interested in attending and we look forward to seeing you on Monday!!

Thanks, Glen. Do you know who received the invite to this workshop? I was on Bellevue website and could only find the press release.

If it's anything like Papillion's Downtown Revitalization project 'stakeholder' meetings, the attendees were city officials, utilities, realtors, planners, developers, etc. No business or regular citizens.....they were 'informed' later.

My information came from Annie Clark. Not sure how she got the word. Mary might be able to make part of the day. Check out book club tonight to see what happened.
