Hey - I have some money for you.

You know how in a lot of meetups, when you have one check, and people leave early, and people start throwing money into a pile on a table,
somehow, the pile ends up being about $100 short?

Well.  THAT has never happened with the ASS meetups.

Maybe because we're too anal-retentive.  Ha!  Ha!!  OK.

We actually end up with money left over.  SO at this point I have $77 for you.  I know I have emailed you about doing a one-time thing with existing members to
kick in X amount of dollars, and then have new people kick in a few bucks - at this point you're coming up on having spent $432 at a rate of $12/month times
36 months, we have 870 or so ASSes.

So I have to figure out how to do it - I know it could NOT be that hard, PayPal or Amazon.com would have something to do with it, however, in the meanwhile -
do you have a Paypal account, because if you do, I could just send you what I have now.

I think those accounts work both ways.

Yeah, I just talked with someone who I sent $ for a concert ticket to - so if you have a paypal account, let me know what it is and I will shoot these buckolas over.

Linda

These are probably higher-quality kazoos than another lead - 144 for less than $14.

Why don't you come on down for the festivities?  Philly isn't so far - c'monnnnnnnnnn....

Okay a little more expensive than Joann's but Oriental Trading has quite the variety of kazoos.

You can have 'Jesus loves me' kazoos for $3/dozen for instance.

http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/browse/processRequest.do?requestURI=processProductsCatalog&categoryId=377320&BP=10575&ms=cse&cm_mmc=GoogleBase-_-datafeed-_-datafeed-_-datafeed&sku=36/133&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=36/133

You gotta love all the crap Oriental Trading sells.

Of course - now it will probably rain or something, but we're going to hope for excellent picnic/party weather.

I am inspired to search for an enormous number of kazoos. Can ANYONE help out with a referral? Imagine our group, kazooing happily away, as some of the more gregariASS members of our number cavort through the crowd, distributing kazoos to anyone who will take them - and then gathering as many people together as we can for an impromptu concert of patriotic songs.

Does this sound utterly stupid to you? Fine, stay home!

For those of you who are willing to peel off your ego for a second (what good has it ever done you ANYWAY, might I ask - think about that one for a while), imagine how truly awesome this could be...not just for our group - but for all those people who happen to be there at the time - a chance to come together and participate in "making a joyful noise" celebrating the bravery of those who stuck it out that scary night of bombardment back in 18-whichever year it was, I'm too lazy to look it up, slept through US History, SORRY!

Inside most everyone is that kid who loves to play a kazoo, and is too untouched by the cruel world to care what they look or sound like. Would you like to escape out of that shell of self-consciousness for a little while and feel what it's like to have fun without a single worry of whether or not you look stupid? Because trust me, you will be in a whole lot of excellent company!

So - first - pray for great weather - we don't want to get rained out here. Second - who knows where I can get a ridiculous number of kazoos for a low unit price? Third - consider coming out and saying hello, even if you haven't been to event in a long time, or EVER. Ideally, we will have a sort of pot-luck picnic. I think a sheet cake could very likely materialize. Let's do this up!
