Announcing a new Meetup for The Anti-Social Social (ASS) Club!
What: Broadway Pier Open Air Movie - IRONMAN
When: July 15, 2009 7:30 PM
Broadway Pier in Historic Fells Point
1000 South Broadway
Baltimore, MD 21231
I believe the movie will start at 8:30 or 8:45 PM, once it gets a little darker. Free movie screening of Ironman with Robert Downey, Jr and Gwyneth Paltrow, also Jeff Bridges. Great action film, cool special effects, Downey Jr and Paltrow work so well together in this film. (Well, that's MY never-to-be-humble opinion)
Bring a folding chair for best comfort, blanket works too. Bringing your own food and beverages are OK but I'm thinking one should use discretion if bringing anything in glass containers, and I'm thinking the open container laws preclude alcohol. People also run get pizzas, sandwiches, pretzels, popcorn stand is right there, we could have a righteous pre-and-during-show picnic but just know - DON'T talk to me while Downey Jr is on the screen because...I....won't....heeeeeeeear you!
Meters in the area charge for parking until 8PM. Parking gets pretty dicey by then unless you just give up and pay for the garage, and what fun is THAT? So, provided the weather is great (I suspect they cancel for rain) come on out early, graze and schmooze. The Charm City Social Club will be there, which provides vectors for entertainment as well - either you can make nice and go say hello and try out being social for once, or you can be your anti-social selves and show them how REAL ASSes congregate to watch a movie!
There will likely be children present amongst the movie-goers so please be advised that I will have to fix you with the Catholic School-Teacher Stink-Eye-Look (CSTSEL) for use of inappropriate language at indiscreet decibel levels.
So - where exactly IS this?! Once you reach Thames and Broadway, point yourself towards the Harbor and - keep - walking - you'll see the screen set up waaaaaaaay down at the end of the pier. That was easy.
See you there! I'm going to actually try to get there at 6:30 - which means I should manage to make it by 7. My cell is 443-528-2422.
