Meet Mama for a Pretty...Philanthropic Black Doll Affair -Books For Africa!

This is a Black Doll Philanthropic Affair open to Community Service Dolls & Black Dolls! What's the difference between a Community Doll and a Black Doll? Black Dolls are identified in public by their Black Doll T-shirts-aka Public Appearance Gear {PAG}. Community Dolls don't have Black Doll T-shirts. They participate in online affairs and select community service affairs. This is one of those select Affairs. Wanna do it all? Become a Black Doll! No BDA Membership fee, just get your Black Doll Public Appearance Tee! Community Dolls FIRST become a Black Doll, then place your YES RSVP. Black Doll Public Appearance Tees are at www.blackdollaffairstore.com here

Philanthropic Service Opportunity with: Books for Africa! Looking for a fun, satisfying volunteer experience? Look no further, this is it! Time to head back to one of The Black Doll's favvvvvvorite places in which to volunteer! And, grab a bite to eat and seal our dolling bond at Six Feet Under  - our favorite place to eatup after the meetup!

About Books For Africa: Most African children who attend school have never owned a book of their own. For many children in Africa, the gift of books truly is a gift of hope. Since 1988, Books For Africa has sent over 20 million books to the children of Africa. The mission of Books For Africa is to end the book famine in Africa. With your help, we will help create a culture of literacy and provide the tools of empowerment to the next generation of parents, teachers, and leaders in Africa. Books donated by publishers, schools, libraries, individuals, and organizations are sorted and packed by volunteers who carefully choose books that are age and subject appropriate. We send good books, enough books for a whole class to use. Books for Africa, relies on dolling volunteers like hue to sort and pack the books for shipments to Africa. No heavy lifting is involved; just a little elbow grease.

What to Wear / What to Bring: Black Dolls wear you Black Doll Tees. Community Dolls {Dolls without a Black Doll Public Appearance T-shirt} wear one of or a combination of our colors: pink, black or white. All Doll should wear comfortable shoes & gloves to protect those pretty...manicures! All Dolls should be a Doll, bring a toy doll!

Child Safety Clause: Child Safety Clause: This is NOT a Black Doll Affair where Dolls must have a criminal background check on file to attend. Therefore, this is not a Black Doll Affair for Baby Dolls - children/minors ages 13-17.

Twas fun being pretty...philanthropic with hue, Lauren, Michelle, Olivia, Beth, Iris, Manya and Michelle! I just love thinking about the travels of a book. First someone gives birth to the words and wisdom, then puts the words onto paper, and then binds it. From there the journey of book and its philosophy begins. From small or big town somewhere, into the hands of The Black Doll Affair, into a crate to Africa and on to the impressionable minds of our brothers and sisters living oceans away...

A very nice experience, I had fun packing books. It was a good feeling knowing the children in Africa would soon be reading the much needed books.

Are we doing Six Feet Under or Books for Africa first?

Hey Beth! An easy way to know what's coming first is to look at the address of the meetup location...in this case that would be Books for Africa ;-) First philanthropy then food and friends! See hue soon, Dolling! PS. For those Dolls now wondering about this place called "Six Feet Under"... Six Feet Under is our favorite place to eatup after the Books for Africa Meetup. xo

Morning, B'huetiful! Just wanted to say that....oh and, while I'm here...Remember, if you already know that you can no longer go, please be considerate by not waiting until the last minute to update your RSVP to Not Going. As b'huetiful as we are, we shouldn't wear the Scarlet Letters of NO SHOW. No, no, we're SO much MORE than that. We're Dolls after all! Dolls and Pals, hue left that inconsiderate behaviors in our past. #SMH when I see it in this dollhouse of souls committed to becoming the BEST! Hmm, I just don't know what to say about that type of un-Doll like behavior. Oh wait! Yes, I do: http://bit.ly/1h1OGwd

Can I donate books on this day as well or should they be brought at an earlier time?
