Meet Lauren and Sabrina for a Dolling Walk to End Lupus!

Please bring a minimum $10 cash donation with hue to the 2014 Walk to End Lupus Now. There is no registration fee for this walk, but, as pretty...philanthropic Black Dolls, we want to be sure that we do our part to raise money to End Lupus Now! Feel free to share the walk with friends and family to raise more awareness and donations!

This Black Doll Public Appearance Affair is open to: Black Dolls & their Baby Dolls [minors ages 13-17 only please]. Sorry, this Affair is not open to Community Dolls.

What's the difference between a Community Doll and a Black Doll? Black Dolls are identified in public by their Black Doll T-shirts-aka Public Appearance Gear {PAG}.

Community Dolls don't have Black Doll T-shirts. They participate in online affairs and select community service affairs. Wanna do it all? Become a Black Doll! No BDA Membership fee, just get your Black Doll Public Appearance Tee! Community Dolls FIRST become a Black Doll, then place your YES RSVP. Black Doll Public Appearance Tees are at here

Join us at the Atlanta Walk, the largest Lupus Foundation of America Walk in the nation, an empowering day of hope and passion with over 8,000 walkers.This day will change the way you see lupus!

Form a team with family and friends OR start a team where you work and help us grow business teams.

• Raise funds and awareness, tell your story and inspire others!
• Ask everyone you know; ask everywhere, you will find many touched by lupus
• Sponsor yourself and ask 10 friends for $20 each, let’s beat the national average of $100 per walker.

Join the Atlanta teams at Piedmont Park, bring a tent and plan a team picnic. Enjoy live entertainment, food for sale and free shuttle buses from MARTA.

The Lupus Foundation of America is the only national force devoted to solving the mystery of lupus while giving caring support to those who suffer from its brutal impact. Through a comprehensive program of research, education and advocacy we lead the fight to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus. Ninety percent of every dollar donated stays in Georgia to ensure the Chapter continues to provide and expand the only free statewide lupus programs and resources, including our support group network, nine statewide symposiums and seminars, and six groundbreaking college forums

Lupus is an unpredictable and potentially fatal autoimmune disease that affects 55,000 Georgians, mostly women aged 18-45, but also men, children and women of all ages. The cruel mystery does not daunt us. We work tirelessly to improve the lives of all people affected by lupus.

We are joining Black Doll Sabrina Brantley as she walks:

1) to give hope to others as she regains what lupus has taken from her;

2) to take Lupus Awareness from a whisper to a shout, letting Georgia know that people that have Lupus are a worthy cause;

3) because lupus patients and their families need the Georgia Chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America, their programs, services and support, now more than ever as they deal with lupus in tough economic times;

4) because someone we love or know has lupus; and

5) because Lupus can be a lonely experience, we are walking for fellowship with others living with lupus.

Register for Sabrina's team and join the Super League of Lupus Fighters HERE!

    I was planning to walk with you on Saturday but I now have a new client that's flying in to look at houses. I wanted to walk in honor of my sister who died of Lupus July, 2006. She would have been 66 years old this year. I will still give my support by giving a donation.

    Thank you so much for helping with this cause. I'm sitting here trying not to cry (I'm such a big baby)! I was diagnosed in the summer of 1996, and this is my 4th year participating in the walk. Last year was the first time I walked this fundraiser without a cane or crutches. I'm so excited to share this experience with my doll friends! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

      You have your good days and bad, I hope you're having more good and hopefully there will be so many advances that this will be a disease that will be understood more has a cure....

      Thanks Trina! So sorry to hear about your dad. I'm glad more is coming out about lupus, and even more about men with lupus. Hoping with more advocates and walks like this, we can get more research and stronger pushes towards FDA approvals of new drugs. Benlysta came out I think 2 years ago. It had been 50 years since the last drug was approved to help patients. SMH... We don't want another 50 years to go by before we are able to get another drug (hopefully less toxic than what a lot of people take) approved.

      Thank you so much! I totally understand, and that is one of the reasons the walk starts in the evening. So many patients have issues with the sun, and I am one of them. I can be out, but being out directly in the sunlight with no covering makes me start getting red blotches, and sometimes sores. all that to say, lol, I feel you on sensitivity. Thank you again, and again, and again!
