  • Sep 22, 2012 · 5:00 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

Come one, Come all! Black & Community Dolls!

Time to again design your b'huetiful legacy of paying-it-forward, giving black and being pretty...philanthropic! Join Mama and Washington DC Black Doll Aisha Williams, in anonymously making a GIRL smile with an act of kindness!

Here's how we'll get involved: Across the country individually, beginning Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 5:00 AM, lasting all day long, hue will again change the world and make it a better place! How? By surprising a woman or girl with a material or non-material gift! Give the gift of your time or the gift of flowers or a toy black doll! To whom you gift your love, is totally up to you! After you've had your Black Doll Affair with the woman or girl in your life, log back on to this Affair on the calendar, post photos from the experience and tell us [Rate the Meetup] about your "Day of The Girl!

Support September 22 as the National Day of the Girl

"It ain't easy being a girl in 2011. We're still fighting discrimination and stereotypes, speaking out against how the media hurts girls by portraying us as sex objects, educating people in power about the critical need for educating girls, and working to change centuries-old practices that may be traditions but are also hurting girls."

-Day of the Girl Movement-

Mama's Suggestions of What hue can do to support the

"Day of the Girl" Movement:

- Buy her a black doll!

- Give Pink Flowers to the Doll-girl hue love!

- Wear pink to work!

- Meet your girls for a pink drink!

- Wear your pink & black Lapel Pin!

- Schedule that breast exam hue been putting off!

-To show her that you're glad she was born,

surprise the girl hue love with a pink birthday cake!

- Surprise the girl hue love with something pretty and pink

- Bake her favorite dessert!

-Release a pink balloon(s) for the girl(s) hue is no longer living.

- Say a silent "Girl Power" prayer

- Sign the day of the girl petition to ask We are asking President Barack Obama to declare September 22 as the National Day of the Girl.

Their goal is 10,000 signatures by September 22! We want the freedom to be ourselves, and to be treated as equals, regardless of sex. We want legislation and programs that ensure the rights and dignity of girls everywhere. We want a National Day of the Girl to explore gender discrimination and advocate for equality for every girl in the world. We want to create positive, concrete changes in how all girls and women are treated and perceived.

Like it's HER VERY OWN CHRISTMAS DAY, join us to randomly surprise & treat the girls or women in our lives!

There's so much hue can do to move the Day of the Girl Movement!

So get creative! If hue need more ideas go here

For bringing "Day of the Girl" to my attention,

special thanks to Girl Scout Leader & Black Doll Aisha Williams

What will you do to uplift a girl?

Hue will you show some love?

How will you make the world more b'huetiful?

We can't wail to find out!

The act of kindness I did today was not totally random. The random part was I did it all day instead of the 3-4 hours I committed too. I'm excited and tired at the same damn time....LOL! I will be posting my pics soon. Love this b'huetiful GIRL POWER!

Well, I just posted my pictures of "random acts of power"!! What fun!! Talking with the little dolls at the non-profit developmental center where I supervise, was truly "fun"! I don't often get into the classrooms to just interact with the students. However, I surprised these two little ladies at the close of the day, and invited them to "tea". One of them has a developmental disorder, but by just playing and sharing, as you can see in the photos, we are as one!!! Don't forget to just play with your little ones!! It is truly powerful for social, emotional, and cognitive development, It also teaches them that they matter, and just being themselves is truly enough! smooches and love my doll sisters!!!

I want to take the list above, and rename it the “Pink List," b'huetiful! Unlike a bucket list, this is a live on purpose for others and myself! Ask God to please allow his light to shine while doing these acts so that others may see him get the glory while he works through us all!
    Spread Love!!!
