Original newspaper [Rolling Out] advertisement

Almost 5 years ago, on December 17, 2007 Mama Doll threw what was supposed to be a one Time Christmas Party. She called it The Black Doll Affair. On that day, the women and girls chosen as The original Black Dolls were asked to get all dolled up as their all time favorite Barbie Doll from history's past. On Monday, December 17, The Black Doll Affair will turn five! Let's get all dolled up and celebrate!

Happy 5th Birthday Black Doll Affair!

In 2007, the very first dolls of The Black Doll Affair got all dollup as as a living Doll from the 50+ years of Black Barbie history, five years later, let's do that again! Hue're cordially invited to join The Black Doll Affair to celebrate 5 years of love, family, big girl panties, philanthropy and yes, black b'huety!

Here are some "get dolled up suggestions."

Glamour Barbie!

Fashionista Barbie!

Rasta Barbie

Disco Barbie

As hue might have guessed Mama Doll is going as Ms. Diana Ross Barbie Doll

Which ever Barbie Hue choose, make sure you're comfortable. Glenn's Kitchen may not be the best place for ballroom gowns... When hue arrive, the Black Doll Affair will provide the "Hello MY NAME IS" Badges!

The Black Doll Affair Barbie Brunch Party This year, on December 17, 2012, The 5th Birthday of The Black Doll Affair, to honor the woman that gave birth to The Black Doll Affair, and the women that keep it moving, we're starting another annual birthday tradition! Dressing up like a living Barbie, just like they did five years ago!

In other words, what to wear & what to bring.

"Be a Doll:" by getting all dolled up like your favorite Barbie, combine with b'huetiful face, gorgeous hair, loving energy attitude! "Give a doll:" When hue arrive, during Black Doll "Be a Doll, give a Doll Roll Call," your Ambassadoll will ask, "Paper or Plastic?" When she does, please give her your pretty...philanthropic donation of a toy black doll - any kind of brand new doll is acceptable - Or, make a $5 Paper Doll Donation on the spot. Paper Dolls go towards keeping our movement fueled. Or for your convenience, before you arrive, you can make a Paper Doll Donation online in The Black Doll Affair Store here.

EXCELLENT time with the Dolls as the celebrations came to an end. All the Dolls were absolutely stunning (of course!) in respective outfits. The diversity of choices were just as diverse as the Dolls themselves ad I LOVED it! My meal was TASTY TASTY -- too bad the service was lacking but time with the Dolls outweighs any nonsense!!

Happy Birthday Dolls! Dolls, I'm so I have to change my RSVP... I don't have the appropriate gear for this evening's attire; not to mention, I'm the only assistant this week at work, and not sure how long I'll have to be here. If I off in time, I will swing by to get a few pics of the Barbie Dolls! I know hue All will look Fabulous.

Mama doll....lack of sleep.....in your case is an under statement! You should be completely and utterly exhausted! If it helps..and I am sure all of the dolls will concur; this weekend was Dollicious

      December 16, 2012

    • Mama D.

Awe, thanks Zena Doll. "Completely and utterly exhausted"...yep, that's a dead on diagnosis! Dollicious hue say? Well then my exhaustion is purposeful and not in vain. Hue all are soooooooo worthy of getting the BEST of me, so it is a pleasure to deliver the goods, through thick and thin, sickness and in health, "Complete and utter exhaustion." OK, it's 3:05 a.m., about that lack of sleep and hue all getting the BEST that I've got, I'm going back into the world where dreams are made of. Sweet dreams, B'huetiful. XoXo
