I thought it'd be great to do a Habitat for Humanity Volunteer project but found out from their website that they require that groups donate either $5000 to do a new construction project or $1000 to do an exterior home renovation project. I'm thinking that either way participating members could raise money to make this happen if folks are interested. I thought one Saturday in October or November would be a good building day. We'd need at least 20 pairs of hands on deck for the new construction and ideally we'd each raise about $250. For the exterior home renovation project we'd need 10 pairs of hands on deck and we'd have to raise about $100 per person. Please let me know if a Habitat for Humanity (HFH) project is something you would be interested in. And tell me which type of project you think we should schedule. I'll be talking to HFH to see if there are other less costly alternatives but I want to know what people think so I know how much to pursue this.
